I bought this book cover guide 5-in-1 book binding tool on sale and wasn't expecting too much considering what I paid for it however, it exceeded my expectations! It was packaged well and is constructed of quality solid metal. It comes with a sheet that describes each component and it comes with 2 bonus items! Just note that the hole punch doesn't punch standard holes for binders but rather it is perfect to punch a hole for eyelet insertion or holes to screw in the included metal rings. I highly recommend this product!

The tool kit gets 5 stars, but I took a star off for poor directions.I had this set for about a month and a half before I could find the time to figure out how to use it. I expect products to come with good directions I can hold in my hand. I even looked at several book binding books at the library, but none of them showed a tool like this.I am looking forward to making photo album covers with this tool. It is made of good quality metal with clearly printed numbers. The hole puncher is the expected normal quality like every other hole puncher I have owned. It punches smaller than normal holes that would work for lacing a cord through the pages or book cover. The product photos accurately represent the item.It comes with a card printed with very, very brief instructions. For me the included instructions were not much help at all, since I have never made a book. I want instructions I can hold in my hand and store with the ruler. I don't want to have to turn on the computer to view instructions that might be gone by the time I need them. The product video is only a little bit useful but it plays way too fast and constantly pausing it to get a better look takes way too long. The product page does have some basic book binding instructions. Not the 8 steps near the top of the page, farther down the page there are 12 steps that repeat the 8 steps you see first. These 12 steps are great, I am going to print out a screen shot to always have them with my tool. These 12 steps don't tell you how to use 2 of the 5 functions of this tool. It does not tell you how to use the corner rounder or the hole to mark the elastic closure. Those functions are mentioned on the included instruction card, but I have no idea how to use them, because they get skipped over on the product page. Fortunately after a little online searching I was able to find an elastic closure book cover guide and a rounded book cover guide very similar to the 12 steps mentioned above. I should not have to hunt down directions. They should come with the product in printed form.

I make a lot of notebooks, journals, and albums in my crafting, and mitered corners are my nemesis, mostly because I cut the corners too close to my chipboard. But this ruler has a corner tool on it for mitered corners and allows me to cut my corners to the right depth. Just that alone would make this item worth the money, but then there is the gap ruler. I'm practically swooning. I usually just eyeball my gaps, but now I can make them more precise. Small binder mechanisms are handy, and they come with the Chicago screw that can be tightened down with a standard flat-head screwdriver. The hole punch is not a standard punch it's about 3mm and will be perfect for eyelets.This ruler is a great 3 or 4 or 5-in-one tool, and that alone is worth the price, which is actually very good.
