The Bonvoisin 5000 gram Lab Scale exceeded all expectations. I use it in the kitchen to calculate calories, fat, protein, and carbohydrates in meals (from the Nutrition Label or USDA web page). 5000 grams is 11 pounds, so it has Plenty of capacity for iron skillets, etc. I place the bowl or skillet on the scale, tare it to zero, then add the food, then re-tare and add more food. The sensitivity is ridiculous at ± 0.01 grams! I did perform the calibration procedure with the 2 kg Calibration Mass, and the scale was already very close. Do Not touch the Cal Mass with your hands. Keep it pristine. The Cal Mass has a nice container, which I also sealed in a ziploc bag.
