For years, I've put up with a slide out keyboard drawer on my old desk which hit my knees. After looking at extensions for months, I saw this one and tried it. All I had to do was remove the faux drawer face on my desk for some extra clearance. It fit on to a 21 inch opening with room to spare. I use my keyboard on the shelf. The only assembly is joining the bracket to the shelf with 6 machine screws. Planned or not, the inclusion of an extra screw was a nice touch. A sturdy, well made and useful addition.

Excellent quality, easy to build and just does the job.I can lean on it a bit (and I'm a big guy) and whilst it slightly flexes I don't feel it's going to give unless I really push down hard, and who is going to do that normally?Highly recommended.

I don't usually write product reviews but felt compelled to do so with this item. It's just been a brilliant extension to my small home office desk - just that extra bit that makes it feel so much more spacious! I can work off a second laptop on it.For the money, I didn't expect too much but I have to say, I'm impressed by the quality. It is sturdy and doesn't feel cheap, practical to flip up and down, and super easy to fit.The seller shipped it super quickly as well - arrived in now time.

This is a very sturdy, relatively easy to assemble desk extension product. I highly recommend it for those who want to maintain their posture when seated at a table or desk while typing.

Got this for a podium at the office. Easy to assemble (just need a Philips screwdriver) and sturdy once on. Would recommend.

Went together in 5 minutes. Installed in 5 minutes. Sturdy when initially installed. Nice width, wish it was available a little wider to accommodate my mouse and mouse pad. Mounted on IKEA counter top in closet-to-office nook. Only fell short of 5 star rating because I will have to replace the bumper pads. I think they are too smooth for my laminate surface, but easy fix for otherwise handy addition!

We were looking for an extension for our tall table that was foldable as well as sturdy. We found this one that matched exactly the color of our table. The only problem was that there was the metal piece at the bottom of our table & the photo states โdesk edge less than 2 inches cannot be installedโ. The heck it canโt! We made it work. A trip to Home depot for a piece of wood board matching the length & width of the distance from the edge of the table to that metal piece under the table (to fill the gap) & a little sawing & acrylic paint did the trick. We got a sturdy real wood board (oak) instead of MDF. We just had to shorten the length of that board ourselves with a tiny craft saw as Home Depot dude refused to cut it, cause the adjustment was less than 4โ! And yes we are women so anyone can do this. Then stick that board under the table right next to the metal piece (just make sure the bottom of the board & the metal piece are the same height) & slide the extension clamps over both the board & the metal piece & tighten the screw. Voila! It is a solid extension. We have placed heavy items on it with no problem & no wiggle. It is also easy to fold down, just grab the little levers at the bottom & push them up together & press down the extension all the way. To extend, just grab the extension (without pushing the levers) & bring it up until it snaps in place. Its top is flush with our table top. We keep opening & closing that thing a few times a day with no problem so far. Highly recommended!

Loving this desk extender so far. I've been using it for a couple weeks to add more room for my computer desk. I use it to hold my keyboard, wrist rest, and Streamdeck. These are my observations:- There are 6 screws you have to put in to secure the shelf to the hardware; 3 on each side. Easy installation.- This wood shelf has these metal studs already built-in where screws go into, which means the screws don't actually dig into the wood and so you don't risk stripping the wood. It's a sign of a quality install.- Once mounted on your desk, the shelf surface is level with the top of the steel bracket. It would've been better if the shelf was level to the desk surface that it's mounted on. The difference is only about 2mm though. This is my only nitpick.- I bought the faux-carbon fiber version, which doesn't look like real carbon fiber but still looks good overall in my opinion.- The hardware feels very solid and the shelf lies perfectly flat when extended.- The latches are very easy to operate and you have to operate both latches at the same time to put the shelf back down. This means that even if one latch fails, it will still hold up.- When you fold the shelf back up, the latches will auto-lock into place which gives off a very satisfying and reassuring click.- I have a very thin solid-steel desk that's only about 2-3mm thick and I was able to mount it easily without having to add many spacers.

Originally I had bought this to use as a Kitchen Countertop extension for a mini oven, but the oven wasn't so big or long/wide as we thought. But it works excellently for when I need to hook this up at my (small space) Computer Desk when I need to do Bills, or when I want to eat at my desk, etc. (FYI: You don't need to crank this tight when you are doing light duty work... you can just have it snug enough to hold firm, but not so tight that you have to turn the bolt tightener real tight for each use. Then after you finished using, you can easily slide it off and tuck the extender bolt assembly back/flush, and place it out of the way) The other one I am temporarily using as an extension for something else.

I purchased this for my elderly mom. It is easier for her to get on and off of a counter high chair, however, her counter did not have an overhang for her knees to go under. This shelf fit perfectly and is very secure to use for eating her meals, also allows her to slide them to the shelf instead of carrying the hot food/coffee while using a walker. Mom can fold the shelf down when not being used so it doesn't take up any additional space when not being used.
