Worked great for my project but the resin leaked through the package. The box wasn't even banged up.

The kit is supposed to include 11ml of hardener. None was included. Amazon won't accept the item for return and 3M won't ship any hardener. 3M refers me to Amazon and Amazon refers me to 3M. Pretty frustrating. Perhaps better to buy from a brick and mortar store so you have recourse.

I like that the hole I made in my rv is now gone. This was a very messy process, no matter what I did to be careful with the resins I still got it on everything. The final result was very smooth, all I need to do is paint the spot.

I used this Bondo fiberglass kit for some repairs to a rusted car door, It was surprisingly easy to use and shape, and went on very well to build up the damaged areas! it was also far easier to work with than I was expecting! On Amazon, the price was far cheaper than retail stores too!I can see many other household uses for this in the future!

I had a mixing problem since there are 2 components to mix and the ratio was not well explained....so i got my first mix hard prior to get all applied. I finally got it with the second mix that i got time to apply because i used much less hardener solution. I had to fix leaky polyethylene tanks and for now the leak seems repaired.

The kit comes with resin and the hardener premeasured to correct ratio. Thus, if you mix the entire volume of resin and the total amount of hardener supplied you will have the correct mixture. However, if you choose to mix a partial quantity, you need to workout the volume ratio and guess as to how much hardener is being mixed with the resin. There are no scaled in either containers to provide guide line. Despite the difficulties, I managed to prepare a somewhat correct mixture and completed the repair job on the canoe.

It worked just like the instructions and the multiple online reviews said it would. It was actually fun to use. A few recommendations: (1) If this is a first time for using fiberglass, read others' reviews of this kit plus some online guides on the hazards of fiberglass lay-up and then watch at least several videos on fiberglassing techniques on YouTube. Be aware that some of the videos contain errors. (2) If used as directed, this kit is safe. However, there are multiple fire and health hazards involved in using this kit if you are careless. Wear a face mask filter designed for working with fiberglass and a pair of eye protectors. Exercise caution with what chemicals you are mixing, and prevent the spread of fibers from the cloth and/or dust from sanding dried fiberglass. Before laundering clothes that may have fiberglass in them read articles on laundering clothes after working with fiberglass insulation. (3) To make sure I had the right amount of resin in each batch for my small job I went to a Bed, Bath, and Beyond and bought a glass drink-mixing jigger glass and a small glass measuring cup. I never needed more than eight ounces of resin, and the cup was usually perfect. To measure the hardener for small jobs your only option is to patiently squeeze and count the drops one by one. It doesn't take that long. I mixed the two parts in old jelly jars I had cleaned and dried. Some plastic cups (including the red Solo cups I tried) will dissolve if you mix the fiberglass in them, but real glass won't. (4) Use very sharp scissors to cut the cloth; give yourself a large clear work surface; and ensure adequate ventilation. (5) If you want to buy more of the cloth in the kit, remember to order fiberglass cloth and not fiberglass mat, which is different and harder to work with. (6) Acetone is a superior clean-up material for this job, but it is very flammable, and it can react badly with some other chemicals. (7) Clean up very carefully, especially the fibers. I used a vacuum with a HEPA filtration system. It takes a little preparation to do it right, but it was fun, and the object I repaired is now stronger and much more rust resistant.

I purchased this larger size fiberglas kit after the repairs I was making to my m/h exceeded the materials included in the smaller Bondo fiberglas kit. Naturally I expected the materials (resin, catalyst, fabric, etc) to be identical to the smaller kit. Foolish me!The resin, catalyst and "tool" were as expected, but the fabric is a disaster. Instead of the troublesome yet manageable neat and tighter weave of the fabric that came with the small kit, this stuff looks like it's made from a slurry process. There's no identifiable weave, it's thick and has huge spaces for air bubbles to be trapped, the strands are long and there's no orientation. Once resin is applied, the fabric sags and gravity literally pulls it apart as you're trying to work it onto your repair surface. The long strands come loose under even the gentlest brushing as you apply additional coats of resin and fabric. The end result is a wild rats' nest of tangled strands and a rough cured surface that makes the lunar craters look like a cue ball by comparison.I freely admit I'm not a fiberglas professional, but I can hold my own given normal quality materials. Buy the Bondo small repair kit with confidence. Stay away from this one unless you're only buying it for the quantity of resin and catalyst and plan to trash the accompanying fabric. If I could give this product zero stars I would. Buyer beware!
