These heavy-weight carabiners weigh approximately 7.7 – 7.8 ounces each. They are heavy on a whole new level for carabiners. I have no way of testing the 2,500 lb. capacity but with the way these are made, it would not surprise me that they would pull through with no problems. The barrel locks on these carabiners are easy to screw in and out of position and hold in place very solidly. These are nice solid stainless steel carabiners, and I have no doubt they will hold whatever you need them to for your needs around the house or on the road. Because they are stainless steel, you do not have to worry about them rusting and can easily be used on your boat docks, which always seem to need some type of ropes and connectors of different kinds. These cost a bit more than your everyday carabiners but you receive five of them and they are top quality. I believe they are well worth the cost. You will only be buying these carabiners one time.

These links are the real deal, very heavy duty stainless adjustable links. Whatever the use, these will not be the weak links.I'm no metallurgist, but these have all the hallmarks of solid stainless suitable for outdoors and marine use. The barrel locks move well without oil and are like butter with it. Torqued down, they will not move on their own. Even with the barrel open, the rings are pretty strong, though I do not recommend testing them that way.The links themselves are overkill for almost anything I might ever need, but a couple will go in the truck to upgrade what I had for pulling logs, stumps, or if I ever need to pull someone out of a ditch. Not much more I can say about chain connectors. These are the real deal and I recommend them.

These seem very well constructed and should work well for lots of applications. I needed one for the winch hook attachment point on my boat, because the winch hook was too big to fit through it. The carabiner just fits through though, and the winch hook attaches to the carabiner. It's more than strong enough for my little boat.

These links are whoppers. The metal is very thick and strong. That said, I wish there was a weight rating on it. Whatever the weight rating is, I'm sure it's pretty high. But I did deduct one star because no rating was provided and with the price of 39 USD is perhaps a little high. I would order these again if I needed more. Just be sure to visualize how big and thick these are by the provided measurements. If you don't need links as big and strong as these, it would be more effective and less expensive to buy smaller.

The Bolt Dropper 1/2" Removable Chain Links Connector - Heavy Duty Large Carabiner 316 Stainless Steel Marine Grade - Corrosion Resistant Chain Connector, Chain Hooks Locking Clip Carabiner - Set of 5 were obtained to have on hand for the multitude of projects I get myself into. These are heavy duty, you will notice as soon as you pick the package up. The 316 stainless means they should not corrode, so you can use them outside with no fears. I keep them on my boat at the moment, for "just in case" moments that could occur.

I was looking for something a little heavier so the raccoons couldn’t run off with my bird feeder. These are no joke and are really hefty. I wasn’t paying attention to the size so they’re a little bigger than what I need but work just the same!

They are a little bigger than the typical climbing oval carabiner, especially in diameter. They will easily interconnect with other full sized and 3/4 sized carabiners, whether of the same style or the common swing gate. However, they may not fit other items you are used to passing a carabiner through, such as chain, and the eyes of items from pitons to pulleys. It is not just the diameter of the body, but the even larger area that is threaded to accept the barrel. None of this detracts from its function, but may limit its applicability. Another thing that may limit is use is its weight. These are much heavier than swing gate aluminum carabiners, even those with a locking barrel, and somewhat heavier than my locking steel carabiners. This, of course makes no difference in a stationary application, such as a fixed pulley, nor in mobile applications where the weight will be born by your vehicle. You are not going to be wanting to haul these around in a backpack. My use will be as attachments in my indoor and outdoor gyms--they are perfect for this purpose if your other "biners" have a large enough gate opening. For what they are, and for many uses, they are as good as can be had. Definitely a 5 star worthy product, but definitely not for every situation.

I needed a connector between a tow strap and my car's tow ring. These chain connectors are.just right for that--super heavy duty with a large enough opening for the strap and ring, stainless steel so they won't rust, and quick to connect with the screw ring. If you need a seriously strong chain link connector, I recommend this one.
