A lot of reviews state that they are bendy and that is true, but I've turned that bendiness to my advantage while quilting. It helps me aim the needle point. On opening the pack I could tell right away that this was outrageous quality. It made me think of a fine diamond or 24kt gold. The finest. The bendiness put a frown on my face so then I tried a few more needle types. Eeny beany needles that are about the size of my fingertip, which are old school for real quilting needles. They won't bend because there is hardly a center.Honestly, I'm new to the quilting scene and these are layman's observations so, certainly, to each their own!Oh, yes, I tried other needles that were very unbendy but broke in half after a few hours. I'm learning! If only there was a tool to unbend these needles. I love them, they are quality.

These particular needles, have the thickness I was looking for in hand stitching. I do a lot of quilting and I do traditional hand stitches on many homemade garments. And these thinner needles can go through any fabric.

I’ve been sewing for over 20 years but it’s only in the last three years that I’ve started sewing consistently enough that I’m ready to start investing in quality tools. I’ve avoided hand sewing most of that time but have recently started to accept the fact that hand sewing skills are necessary for garment construction if I want the inside of my projects to look as lovely as the outside. I’ve been using random no-brand needles (the assorted packs that come in that plastic wheel thingy) and an assortment of other needles I’ve picked up throughout the years, but I wanted see if using a high quality needle would really make a difference like the experts say they will in all the articles I’ve read.Oh, do they ever! These needles are very fine, with a VERY small eye. So small that no needle threader in existence could possibly fit into it. I was worried that I’d have a hard time threading them but as long as I have enough light I’m able to with a minimal amount of swearing. That small eye is great for sewing fine fabrics, and it really decreases the likelihood that my thread will slip out of the eye while I’m stitching. These needles are also SHARP! Wayyy sharper than any other needle I’ve used. The needle’s sharpness, small eye and thin width all make hand sewing an absolute delight. What a difference!I’ve included a photo comparison to show how Bohin needles compare to the ones I had been using, and you can see how the needle slid through cotton voile like a hot knife through butter. I’m throwing all my other needles away.

These needles are like nothing I’ve ever used before. I know this might sound strange, but if Audrey Hepburn ever did any hand sewing, I would imagine that she would have used these. They’re a bit elegant. I’ve recently learned English paper piecing and I bought them for that reason. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the eye is very tiny and I have a hard time threading it. But hey, I’m 68 and my eyes aren’t what they used to be. So I’m using a small magnifier to help with that. I’m definitely going to toss my old needles and replace them with Bohin needles. Because life it too short to use crummy needles.

If you're looking for a high quality needle that glides through fabric this is it. Unlike John James and other brands I've tried, this needle makes appliqué work a breeze and fun. They glide right through the fabric and are sharp sharp sharp!! Highly recommend these. My motto is the right tools for the job make all the difference in the world.

These Bohin hand needles are exactingly made and polished perfectly! No catches or imperfections, my thread seems to glide into the needle eye without effort! Although #8 Sharps are my usual, I thought I'd try the #10 Milliners Needles for a change & wasn't disappointed or inconvenienced. Beautiful little tools, which make hand sewing a pleasure!

The price is great although you have to order 3 units. Having said that the picture is for milliners needles - which is what I wanted! However, what I got SENT was straw milliners needles. I'm not going to send it back because it wasn't expensive and I guess I might still use these but can you PLEASE update the picture to avoid disappointment.Actually I’m revisiting this. The last needles I purchased was like 5 years ago? The needles are somehow more delicate than my previous version. Even after a short use they become bendy. However they seem genuine enough I may need to change to another brand though.
