I used these for a pair of dual-range ceiling speakers that have been installed in my ceiling forever. The housing definitely makes them sound clearer than when they just had insulation over them. I did have to modify the plastic frame of the speakers for them to fit into these enclosures, and resorted to some unconventional means to get them to mount. But not the fault of the manufacturer and nothing that couldn't be remedied with a trip to the hardware store and simple hand tools. There were these odd triangle pieces of metal included, but no directions and I could not figure out how to incorporate them - so I didn't.
