This is definitely not 5/16 nipple size, it's 3/8. The connector does work on the Mercury motor though.

It will not go all the way onto my motor connection. It looks exactly like my current factory hose end connector, yet will not go all the way onto male connection of motor. It leaks gas like crazy! It goes on half way then won't go all the way on! Manufacturers defect

Fits perfect on the Merc motor - 1998 9.9hp 2 stroke. I tried several of the cheapies from Wally and Fleety, but they didn't work. This fit as it should. Was worth spending more as it needed to fit correctly!

Purchased this to go on 5/16 fuel line. Ad says 5/16: 8mm. It is 3/8 not 5/16. Does not fit my 5/16 hose.
