It's hard to find a toilet paper that hasn't been hit by shrinkflation, but this version of Boardwalk fits the bill...or rather the roll holders we have has built in for years that suddenly began to fail to function as other rolls shrank in width. We noticed "old fashioned" wide rolls in our travels and hunted down a source. Now, because we had to buy 96 rolls, we won't have to buy toilet paper for a looooong time. Like carrying an umbrella to prevent rain, perhaps our tush tissue stash will stave off another pandemic. As for the quality of the tissue, it's perfectly adequate at performing its function comfortably, easily dissolves, making it easy on the septic system after flushing. Hope Boardwalk still makes this size when we need another case someday.

Nice that it's 4.5" wide but very hard to get the first sheet un-stuck so the roll will start feeding. Then the plys separate too easily and besides that there are small gouges and little rips in many of the sheets. You're better off buying Costco Marathon tissue which is also 4.5 inches wide and much better quality even with the 5% non member surcharge.

This is an excellent product,not narrow like most all paper out there,strong,not gooey soft when wet,absorbent for the task.the way paper used to be years ago.no frills,no nonsense,does the job.too bad it doesn’t come in a strong box,and in smaller quantities.96 rolls is a challenge to store in our small home with limited storage,we ended up giving half to a neighbor.NOTE;;;;; THE BOX IT ARRIVES IN LITERALLY CANNOT HANDLE THE WEIGHT AND BULK OF THE ROLLS,BE PREPARED. We have had this paper for a month now and it is AMAZING how much longer a roll lasts over the store brands sold.yes you will have to double it over for use but it STILL goes on and on and on........you will replace the roll much less often.yes it is not soft as charminm or northern but if all is well health wise this paper will do the job hygenically

Pretty good paper and hard to beat the price. I bought this because I'm tired of getting ripped off at retail with colorfully packaged bales of narrow, loosely-wrapped paper on oversize cores. These rolls are the good old 4.5" width, like all toilet paper used to be until the makers started chiseling the width to put more money in their pockets. It fits on a standard holder without leaving all that extra space at the sides.When you unwrap one of these rolls you'll be reminded how toilet paper used to be before they started messing with it, if you're old enough to remember. Compared to a modern retail roll, these are heavy and dense. The case weighs 41lb. Pinch a retail roll between thumb and finger and you can compress it by over half its thickness - that's air you're buying, folks. You can't do that with these. You pay for a roll of paper and you get actual paper, not air. If you're green-conscious, you'll appreciate that the packaging is paper instead of plastic. They are 100% recycled, although none of the fiber is post-consumer. I was worried it was going to turn out to be made in China, but the case I received said "Made in Canada," which was nice to find out.We were using Quilted Northern and this is more or less equivalent to that in softness, maybe a tad less soft, but certainly in that ballpark. The description says "embossed," and it is, but it's wound so densely that the embossing is pressed invisibly flat once you get about 1/4 of the way into the roll. This doesn't really affect its usability, but if the decorative embossing is important to you, Boardwalk makes shorter rolls that may not flatten it out.Pricewise there's no contest. A bale of 30 Quilted Northern "double rolls" on sale at Target worked out to 50 cents per 21 sq. ft. roll. These came to about 71 cents per 67 sq. ft. roll, which is by far the better deal. If you have the storage space to tuck away 96 rolls of paper and you don't mind buying in bulk, my math says buying this item will save you about $85 compared to buying the equivalent amount in retail rolls, even on sale.EDIT: The latest case I bought is not quite the same as before. It's still two-ply, and it's still the same size and length, but the manufacturing has changed from Canada to USA, it's no longer embossed, and it's stiffer than it used to be. So it's not quite as good, and I'm regretfully removing a star from my rating.

BOARDWALK WENT DOWN THE DRAIN. Cut their quality down, the paper gets thinner and thinner, too crumbly, sticks all over you. Perforation issues. Cheap. Too much glue on the start and end, you'll lose 3% of the roll just getting it started (and finished).Classic story, outsource, lower the quality, hire people who don't care, and get extra cash, using up your reputation until even the most loyal have walked away.Was buying Boardwalk 6155 for the last 7 years approx. Used to rate it 5 stars, I was the most famous reviewer for this product, people stopped me on the street, asking for my autograph! But I'm done, had enough of low quality.BUT NO WORRIES STILL GONNA FIND OUR TOILET PAPER PARADISE: WINDSOFT 2200. 4.5" x 4.5" YEAH !!! Don't Rip Me Off. AND 500 sheets per roll, That means each roll is 188 feet long!! YEAH! I've moved on to Windsoft. Dont worry about the higher price, the rolls are better.
