Works good and costs less, only down side is the outer cardboard shell had a bit of an uneven seam and it would get snagged trying to install it.

These are quality filters and we're recommended by the company that does my annual heater maintenance. He said I needed to quit using the high merv filters as they reduce the lifespan of the heater. He recommended these MERV 8 and I am satisfied with the purchase.

Our HVAC company suggested we use MERV 8 filters for our new Lennox furnace to extend the life of the furnace. We have to change the filters more frequently, but the cost of replacing a furnace versus the cost of these filters is no comparison. These filters are quality made. The MERV 8 rating allows for good air flow and functionality. Good value for the money spent!

BNX seems to really have their act together. One of the biggest problems with a typical box of 6 filters is that the filters are bent or crushed before they go into the shipping box, or the box exactly fits snug around the filters - such that if there is any rough handling in shipping (and there usually is) then the filter perimeter paperboard (the frame) will become bent or even creased. If that happens, and the frame of the filter is flimsy to start with, then you can have serious issues.Considering the above - there are 2 very important points to look for from my perspective.1. Structural strength of the filter paperboard frame components (not the actual filter material so much) need to be as sturdy as you can get - in order to prevent bending, bowing, or any other shape that allows the flowing air to short circuit around the filter. In particular the paperboard perimeter framework is the most important piece to having a filter that is not flimsy. It is very simple to examine this by "feel". I have ordered from several providers at this point - and so far the BNX construction is by far the most sturdy that I have seen - this is very apparent upon holding one and flexing it a bit - but keep reading.2. The next requirement concerns how the filters are packed so that they cannot be easily "dented" with minor dings and collisions in transit. The first BNX shipment I received with (1) - 6 pack came in an OVERSIZED - and very sturdy cardboard box. There was not one crease or crinkle in any of the 6 filters when I opened it. The oversized box seems to work because if it takes a hit in shipment - the filters bundled up in plastic inside have room to be away from edges of the shipping box. I'm sure the bigger package is a cost factor - but, it's worth it. It is extremely important that the filters have no structural flaws.I have a new Trane Gas Package & it requires (Qty 2) - 18 x 20 x 1 nominal size. Actual size needs to be exactly 17.75" x 19.75" x 0.75". Also, 2 of these filters are needed, as that is how TRANE designed their filter tray arrangement - you slide one of the filters in on a U shaped metal channel tray until it touches the HVAC unit side wall - and then you slide another filter in until it butts against the first filter. Then you close the filter compartment door, and it seals with the side wall of the second filter. The filter dimensions are perfect and have no leakage between where the two butt together. Also, there is no leakage against the other edges against the HVAC unit. I have tried several other brands and none are as sturdy as these. So the size is perfect, and I do not think they will get sucked into the unit or bowed due to their above average structural integrity. As a side note, the actual filter size for this large TRANE unit is difficult to find .... so congratulations for BNX stocking this size.In conclusion - I just put the first 2 filters into my TRANE unit. So I cannot vouch for runtime at this moment. I will try to adjust this review as I continue to watch it's operation. However, the fact that the filters arrived in absolutely perfect condition, AND, they are the sturdiest I have ever seen gives me a lot of confidence that my battle for a filter vendor is over. Thank you BNX. Your attention to the things that are most important to this customer is absolutely noted. Your value add, and attention to detail, are most appreciated. Good job !

With two dogs, two kids and myself these filters have their work cut out for them. They worked perfectly for dust, dander, and just a fresh air in the home. I put a couple of drops of essential oils on mine to give the house a fresh smell.

I recently purchased the MERV 8 16x25x1 air filter for my home HVAC system, and I am very pleased with its performance. Here are my thoughts after using it for a couple of months:**Pros:**1. **Excellent Filtration**: The MERV 8 rating ensures that this filter effectively captures a wide range of airborne particles, including dust, pollen, mold spores, and pet dander. My indoor air quality has noticeably improved since installing it.2. **Perfect Fit**: The 16x25x1 size fits perfectly in my HVAC system. Installation was quick and easy, and I didn't have to struggle to get it in place.3. **Durability**: This filter has proven to be quite durable. Even after two months of use, it still looks relatively clean and seems to be holding up well without any signs of wear or damage.4. **Value for Money**: Considering the level of filtration and the durability of this filter, I find it to be a great value for the price. It’s an affordable way to maintain good air quality in my home.**Cons:**1. **Airflow**: While the filtration is excellent, I did notice a slight reduction in airflow compared to lower-rated filters. It's not a major issue, but something to be aware of if you have an older or less powerful HVAC system.2. **Frequency of Replacement**: Given its effective filtration, it needs to be replaced every 2-3 months to maintain optimal performance, which is more frequent than some other filters. However, this is a common trade-off for higher filtration efficiency.Overall, I am very satisfied with the MERV 8 16x25x1 air filter. It has significantly improved the air quality in my home, reducing allergens and dust. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient air filter for their HVAC system.

It arrived quick and it was so easy to install, we have no complaints. It doesn’t seem overly dirty after almost a month use, so I think we will keep it in and check on it weekly now to see when it will need to be replaced. I’m happy with this as other low quality ones only last about a month before looking like they need to be replaced. Also, The higher MERV 8 rating makes me feel more confident in the air quality especially during cold season.

I have purchased filters that were a little more pricey, but they seemed to be thinner - cheaper looking. This filter look more heavier and collect dust and pet dander. Can't wait to use them when I need to replace the old ones.
