Bought this a year ago and couldn't find time to install. Finally got it on and it doesn't leak +10 pts for me! I did have to unbolt the tranny mount and jack up the rear to bolt the back of the new pan but no big deal. I'm happy I got it done and that it will help keep it cool and holds more fluid.

I installed this on my 97 k2500 6.5 Diesel with a 4l80e. I went with the B&M pan because it had an alum extension tube for the filter in addition to a clip to hold the filter from floating out. I think the original pan is 3 qts and this pan is 6 qts.At the same time I decided to install a temp gauge. I would have liked an already tapped pan for the temp sensor. I run about 160 F just cruising around after 30 min. Unfortunately I don't know what the truck run before the larger pan was installed.Pan is easy to install. I had to remove the trans cross member bracket from both the tail shaft of the trans and the frame of the truck. This allowed me to slide the cross member back a 0.5inch or so to get good access to the rear pan bolts. This was never required for the factory pan, but do to the depth of the pan and larger socket requirement of the new bolts, I decided to. I would have liked flange head bolts like what the factory installs instead of reg hex head bolts with washers. The factory bolts are a 10mm socket head, these are the standard 13mm socket. A 10mm socket is easier to sneak through the tight areas. There's a bracket at the back right side of the pan that I ended up just putting the factory bolt to make the install quicker. Probably in the future to prevent having to slide the trans cross member back to change fluid I will grind away the interfering rubber/metal mount. Just enough to get a socket through.

It works and looks great. I paired it up with a B&M Trans oil cooler and I saw a significant drop in temperature. There is a little cutting you have to do on the transmission support for the pan to clear bit overall I'm very satisfied with the product.

This pan looks nice, but looks can often be deceiving. This pan does in fact hold more fluid than the OEM pan, but the good ends there for me. First the pan doesn't fit between the crossmember and the transmission. I had to add spacers to the transmission mount to lift the transmission about a quarter of an inch. Then there is the location of the drain plug. It could not be placed in a worse spot. For most applications it is probably fine, but for me, it sits directly above the exhaust pipe. Lastly, and I should have realizes this from looking at the pictures, but the pan doesn't have a little ledge on the inside corner for the dipstick to land on. This allows the dipstick to enter too far into the pan not allowing for a precise measure of fluid level. That last bit was the last straw for me. The pan was on my vehicle for a total of eleven days. I didn't like shimming the tranny mounts and not knowing my exact fluid level was driving me crazy. I purchased a pan from PML. It fits better and they will machine New hole for alternate drain locations.

This transmission pan is great. I mounted on my '97 'burb and it is working out great. I had to remove the bolts of the crossmember and slide it backwards until I mounted the pan and then moved it back into position but I'll take that inconvenience for the added fluid and better cooling over stock. Forget the one star ratings. I can never figure out why people that order the wrong items leave negative feedback. Also, mine is the 6.5 turbo diesel and it fit just fine in relation to the exhaust crossover pipe which I had upgraded to a 2 1/2" pipe over stock. It works just fine with the dipstick as well. I couldn't be happier with the upgrade.

Awesome pan and transmission temperatures seem to have dropped about 8 degrees. Had to modify the transmission crossmember just a bit but fit excellent.
