This is a classy way to keep a comb handy, not just in show but also out in the barn. My pastures always have burrs growing so getting burrs out of shaggy coats (of ALL the critters) is a constant battle, made easier with a metal comb like this one. It works equally well on horse tails and livestock guardian dog fur, though it has to be used rather cautiously in sheep wool (at this late winter season, the wool is long and can be pretty matted, so you have to tease the locks open before extracting burrs). Having a way to just keep the comb on your hip, either on a belt or clipped into the pocket of coveralls, is really convenient and saves your fingers a lot of sticker-splinters from burrs and briars caught in the livestock coats.The holster itself is made from polyurethane faux-leather, so even though it looks nice, it's safe to wear on rainy days and won't mind getting muddy. The metal clip is stainless steel, as are the rivets, and it isn't too stubborn (you can slip it onto a pocket pretty easily, or a belt if you use two hands). The loop could fit a narrow hammer handle or maybe fencing pliers; it's good and tight on the handle of the comb. You can extract the comb and put it away one handed, but it won't fall out on its own.The comb is large and made of riveted stainless steel with a wooden handle. Nice and strong, and it looks good. Works great for shedding, not just for pulling pasture debris out of coats. Very happy with this set!
