….and this is for multiple reasons. First of all, the sound is incredible for such a small unit. It really is impressive. It’s plenty loud enough and stations come in quite clear. Also the construction of this radio feels incredibly solid, especially for its size. It doesn’t feel super lightweight and plastic as most radios of its style. That brings me to another excellent point … The size of this radio is just right to be used inside of a go bag, survival bag, emergency bag, camping, or backpacking bag. It’s super convenient. And its size makes the sound quality even that much more impressive. I hope to get several more to ad into each family members’ go bags, replacing the less impressive ones that are currently in them. Overall, this is an excellent value for the price.

The radio is smaller than I expected (4"x2"), but it is loud, clear, and able to receive the AM station my mom prefers to listen to. It took a few minutes to learn how to tune the radio (the tuner buttons are about the size of a nail head or screw, about one quarter inch across), and there didn't seem to be a way to turn it. Eventually, I figured out you press it, and it auto searches either up or down, depending on which button you press. I haven't tried any of the other features (Weather band, Short wave, or TF card), but for use as a simple radio, it can't be beat. It may not have the bass that dedicated music lovers want, but does great with speech and talk radio.

This is a tiny, lightweight pocket radio. It's reminiscent of those little transistor radios us "old folks" grew up with in the 60s and 70s, but this is a deceptively sophisticated modern radio - the transistors in this little wonder are replaced with DSP chips, and it doesn't even need a 9v battery - there's a built in Li battery and a charging cable. This model receives AM/FM and weather bands - there's no SW (shortwave) so the product description currently needs a bit of updating. The buttons are simple to use and operate. They're well designed so a jogger can use this radio without much worry about accidentally pressing buttons while in motion. I did not try to program any stations into memory, but apparently that's a option. I LOVE the built in flashlight!! It's really bright and just SO handy! Really happy they chose to incorporate this extremely useful feature.I tested operation of this radio during the day. FM reception is excellent from the built in 12" telescoping steel whip antenna. The digital display is big and easy to see. On my test I was able to pick up all of my local stations in about a 35 mile range. The small speaker is surprisingly pleasant to listen to - it's not fatiguing at all. Much nicer speaker than I normally find in little pocket radios of this type. AM radio picked up three of the local stations, which is about all any portable AM radio will pick up during the day. I expect this little radio will see a significant improvement in medium wave reception at night - most of today's little pocket radios do well on that band. If it does not I will come back and update this review. The weather bands work surprisingly well, too. Well, in my case - and most cases that will be "band" because you can likely only pick up one weather band that serves your local area. Great reception there as well. I did not try out the weather alert feature; there is no severe weather going on right now to trigger such an alert, but what a handy feature for campers or for those living in severe weather prone areas. All in all, I am VERY impressed with this small but mighty little pocket radio. Because of its ultra small size and handy flashlight feature, this one is going into my RV where I am always looking for a flashlight!I don't know how much this radio currently retails for, but if it's $18 or under, I'd have to rate it as a good buy. Definitely recommended.

I grabbed this on a whim with the intent of stuffing it into a prep/get-home bag for one of the cars.Upon arrival, I was surprised by the build quality, as it's solid and compact. Already, it's perfect for the intended purpose. On top of that, the sound quality is excellent and loud from its one speaker, and it will take headphones for stereo sound. Past that, the reception is great on all bands, and programmability seems to work well. This is a great radio and it's definitely worth more than the $9.99 initial launch price.
