The rear main seal is a critical component of an engine, as it helps to keep the oil inside the engine and prevent it from leaking out. Over time, the seal can become worn or damaged, leading to leaks. Bluedevil Rear Main Sealer is formulated to be a non-particulate sealant that can mix with the engine oil and flow into the damaged areas of the rear main seal, creating a permanent seal. It is designed to work with all types of engine oil and can be used in both gasoline and diesel engines.

Like the title says, did not work at all. Added this with fresh 'High Mileage' conventional 10w30 and new filter in my 2005 Jeep TJR.If anything, it leaks worse now. I will update this review if I find any physical damage to the old seal when I replace it.

I’ve always been skeptical of these kinds of products, but I was not looking forward to removing my transmission or paying $1K+ to replace the main seal. I own a 2009 Honda Civic LX that developed a slow, seeping rear main seal leak. I did a little research and read some reviews about this product and figured I would give it a shot. I added this after I drained the oil and replaced it with MaxLife High Mileage Synthetic Blend 10W-30 which is heavier than the Super Tech 5W-20 Full Synthetic that I’ve used since I got this car. I then drove 50 miles on the freeway. So far, no leaks, not a single drop. I highly recommend this product.

Update it started leaking again 2 days later. Definitely less but it’s still leaking.I have a 1996 F250 with the 460 and the rear main was leaking. I saw this product and thought it was to good to be true but worth the money to try it out. I drove it 200 miles and parked in on concrete not a single drop. I am amazed and 100% recommending it.

I have a 2009 F150 with over 337,500 miles on the original engine. It developed a persistent rear main seal leak about a year ago. Having called the local dealer, I was quoted labor only of $1,900 to repair this leak. I went on Amazon to see if there might be anything out there that would help. I purchased this Blue Devil pour and go rear main sealer and had it delivered next day, put it in the crankcase as instructed and drove to Ft. Lauderdale (200+ miles roundtrip) So far, after about 400 miles, it looks to me that the leak has stopped. I'm hopeful that it stays stopped and will no longer be a mess on my paver driveway!! I recommend this product based on this outcome.

I tried this on a 2016 Wrangler with a big oil leak from the rear main (lost 3qts in 5000miles) and it did stop the leakage much to my surprise (first based on significantly reduced diameter of oil spots on my driveway, then they completely disappeared by the next oil change), well enough for me to recommend it. I read some reviews on this product and at least one customer put this in his rear main differential with destructive results (increased leakage)--THIS IS INTENDED FOR REAR MAIN ENGINE SEAL, NOT REAR DIFFERENTIAL SEAL. I'm not sure if I drain the oil, will I have to do it again with the oil change? I will update this review to answer that later. Excellent product Update, changed oil and did not re-add this Blue Devil product, still no leaks, considering I had at least a 2foot diameter oil ring on my driveway at this time last year, this is a great product.

I added this to my old trail / woods rig, 2002 zr2 blazer. I’d take this rig out on the highway and about 10 mins the oil would be leaking on my exhaust and looked like a coal train going down the highway. I had a combo leak of oil pan gasket seeping and my rear main seal . I put this in and ran about a hour the first day. Noticed an improvement. I drove this 2 more days in row for several hours. This has not only stopped my coal train from smoking but it’s down to a hardly visible tiny little oil spot . I can actually drive down the highway , not just the back trails now but I don’t see or smell any oil burning onto my exhaust anymore. This saved me a ton of money for my old rig. I’m not sure about others but this stuff worked outstanding for me . Simple as pour it in and drive . I also used the trans sealant and it worked just as good . Blue Devil products worked wonders for me, great stuff !

Ok so I have a 2008 Cadillac Escalade EXT. 6.2 and all wheel drive. About 100K miles and it has had a minor oil leak for about a year or two. Talking a couple drops on the driveway overnight. Then after a road trip towing my camper around 200 miles total I did an oil change and the next day the oil leak was massive. The day after changing the oil I got the "low oil pressure, shut off engine!" alarm. It was at that point I cold see oil dumping out while idling. It was a consistent drip to the tune of 2 quarts a day on my daily commute which is only 30 miles total. Upon searching for the source I was able to see it was the rear main seal. I tried the Blue Devil RMS product. It did slow the leak but I was still losing at least a quart of oil every 30 miles or so. Now my truck is in the shop getting the rear main seal replaced. This job calls for the transmission, transfer case, cross members, drive shafts and exhaust system to be removed to replace this $30 seal. While the truck was at the shop and the trans removed I asked the shop to change the oil pan gasket as well because with my luck the oil pan gasket would start leaking a month later. Total cost is $2,000 for the rear main seal and oil pan gasket. I wish the sealer would have worked, but I guess my leak was way too much for it.

I used this 2 times now the leak never came back. The first time I used it I was really sceptical about this product still leaking for two days but as I drive along the leak suddenly disappeared. So when I did my oil change I pour another bottle no more leak up to now. I think it does its job kudos to the seller and kudos to bluedevil.

Used this on my '99 Tahoe LT diagnosed with a leaking rear main seal. I found drips of oil on my garage floor, nothing major, no pooling. Took the vehicle in for service and they confirmed my rear main seal was leaking oil. I did not want to move forward with a $1500.00 repair bill, so I researched the problem and found BlueDevil. Sceptical at first, I purchased the product and dumped it in the oil reservoir.6 months later, I took my truck in for an oil change and specifically asked them to inspect the rear main seal for leakage. The report came back that the seal was wet, but not leaking any oil. There are no new drips on my floor, putting fresh cardboard down to check.I have to say it works
