Heads up, DIYers! Be aware that installing this kit requires modifying the factory/OEM steel brackets behind the bumper, which house the modular tow hooks. You'll need a heavy-duty reciprocating saw to cut through thick steel. I didn’t have the right saw or blade and had to take it to a metal fabricator.Additionally, one of the two base plate inserts in the kit had a misaligned mounting hole—off by about 1/8 inch—even after enlarging the hole on the vehicle’s frame per the instructions. This made it nearly impossible to properly fasten the bolt, flat washer, and lock nut. Because the base plate insert was so heavy-duty, I had to have the hole enlarged by a professional.Plan accordingly to avoid unexpected delays!
