66% cheaper than local, I’m an Alaskan welder by trade and I can’t say how awesome free shipping with prime is. Save save save. Not to mention there was no damaged rod in shipping.

The Blue Demon 1/8 6010 welding rod put down a great weld with a smooth arc. The slag is easy to remove. You have no good reason not to have some as part of your welding supplies.

Hard to find, the gas I spent looking would have paid for it the first time, works great on the farm where being stronger on not so clean metal matters.

I like the fact that the welding rods where well packaged, and all of them are straight not bent or anything. none of them were broken which is good.Only thing is that the wattage on the box is not enough to light them up and melt them so you’ll have to use a little bit higher wattage for the best performance.

Great rods, the 50lbs of 1/8 6010 burned like a charm around 70 AMPs with my Hobart.

I'll preface this with saying that I'm an experienced welder, and currently working on my 6G pipe test (B31.3 ASME cert) papers.I have been using some lincoln 6010 rods (red) and needed some gray (6010p) rods, so I thought I'd give these a try. They are chinese made, and come in a sturdy plastic box with inner bag liner - good for keeping them dry. They smell like a fireworks store, and I first tried them out on some 6" SCH40 pipe coupons with a bevel and 3/32" open root.Meh. The slag forms a "trumpet" at the end of the rod, and you can't see the puddle. Needless to say, my welds came out less than awesome.Second try: some cold-rolled 3/16" steel plate - they do a decent job of laying a bead, providing you can work around the "trumpet end" issue and see the puddle. Not a huge deal on flat plate jobs, but any type of vertical or horizontal weld, forget it.They also seemed to stick more than the lincolns at the same amperage. I boosted the power a little and they ran fine, but the trumpet end got kind of annoying.Slag does clean off pretty well, no better/worse than any other 6010's I've burned.I think that they are fine for general fab and repair work, but, don't let the "made for the pipe industry" bit on the label fool you, these things would go overboard on any of the rig-welding jobs I've seen. But I'm sure they'll fix your lawnmower just fine.

I was using these in a 240v welder with amperage and dig adjustability. I was using them as a first pass on very rusty old small gauge rail line. I did grind the areas to be welded as well as I could, but there was still some rust pockets to be welded through. These rods burnt really well, with little spatter and without sticking and seemed as good as any rod I have used. However, I did not x-ray or destructively test the welds but they seemed very good.
