This is a great tourch but I am concerned that when it’s inside my tool box jostling around that the ingnite button could get depressed and set my tool box on fire. One accidental press of the button and this touch fires up.It really needs a safely button to lock the touch from accidental turn on.

I have been using the Blazer ES-1000 torch for over 30 years as a band instrument repairman. The quality is unmatched and is much safer and more convenient to use than acetylene. The flame is fully adjustable, with separate air and gas adjustments you can have a soft (yellow) flame to a soldering (blue) flame. It lasts a loooong time on one filling of butane. (Be sure to use at least Triple Refined butane. Lesser quality gas could clog the torch and result in a trip to the manufacturer for repairs.) This is a one-stop tool for everything from piccolo pad work to soft soldering. (Does NOT get hot enough for high temp silver soldering.)With practice, the adjustments can be made with one hand while working on the job.By the way, my original Blazer STILL WORKS 30 years later! I got another one as a backup, and the quality is the same as my original. Still made in Japan. Same packaging. I think Blazer still offers service on their products should you need it. (Contact info on the box.) When I have sent mine in it comes back working better than new. This is not a toy, nor a cigar lighter; it is a professional tool that absolutely ROCKS!It is the best and my favorite tool on my workbench. It’s made to last - and it does.Enjoy!

The lighter only lasts about a year. If they would have invested a bit more in the igniter, the torch would be usable for a long time.

Super versatile. The adjustments that are able to be made to the cone of the flame work out great. A must have for small repairs or working with any thing that would utilize a variable flame.

Looking for a one time investment into a micro torch? Well, look no further. Blazer hit it out of the park with this one with the ES-1000. I've been a welder for almost fifteen years. I've used my share of torches, and as far as micro torches go, this is worth every penny.Key features:- adjustable gas- adjustable oxygen- low center of gravity so it's stable while one a working surface- holds a fair amount of fuel for its size- medium sized torch/larger flame- lock setting to work hands free with the torch functioning.- **easy to ignite** the black model I purchased that CLEARLY states its for industrial use only, and does NOT have a child safety lock on the ignition switch.

These are excellent and perform well. We use them in a dental lab for wax ups etc.Price was great when we bought the first ones, they have gone up quite a bit since.

I use this torch for detail and finish on carving. it is perfect for the job. I use other torches for more robust work and this one would not do. However, if your craft is jewelry or fine detail, spend a bit more and get this one. Easy to fill, light, terminate. very hot fine blue flame. does what you need

I have used several butane torches over the years and this one is by FAR the most well built and quality designs I have used. It makes the others look like kids toys (not that kids should use torches). I use this torch for mobile electronics installations on heat shrink tubing / sealed connectors etc - you can adjust the flame with the fuel and air sliders and it works perfectly. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this model if you are looking for a top-end torch and are tired of the cheap versions.
