First the positive: this sink is beautiful and is exactly what we were looking for for our remodeling project. Other buyers have obviously had a positive experience with this product and I hope they are continuing to enjoy it and it has held up well. Now the bad: This product arrived in a perfectly intact, undamaged in any way, shipping box. As soon as I opened the box though, I saw a chunk of the sink broken off and laying in the bottom of the basin. This obviously came from the shattered front left top corner as shown in the attached picture. I subsequently found several more large, broken pieces from that corner scattered around the inside of the box.I was ready to simply report the item as damaged and re-order the same sink, as I know this type of damage can sometimes happen in transit. But upon further inspection, I discovered that the back left AND right corners of the sink were cracker from the top corner all the way down to the bottom of the sink (see additional pictures). My best guess is that this sink was damaged in shipment even though there is nothing to indicate that on the box. The sink was very minimally packaged with only a few thin pieces of cardboard and some plastic strapping to protect it (also as shown in pictures). Even if damaged in shipping due to poor packaging, it gives the impression this sink is extremely fragile and I have no faith in the long term durability of this product. Thank God our new countertops haven't yet been templated to fit this sink or we'd really be in trouble. In light of other reviews, maybe this is an isolated experience, or others with this problem simply haven't bothered to right a review. Either way, if you do choose to purchase this sink, please please please inspect it extremely closely for cracks and chips immediately and take extreme care with the installation. Good luck!

Ordered 2 white Blanco sinks for our kitchen remodel. This one for the island prep, and a large one for the main sink. Firstly when installed they looked gorgeous with our creamy marble countertops. However, within months the sinks started staining. Extremely difficult to keep the white clean. You basically need to scrub it a couple times a week and even then the colour is no longer white throughout which makes it always look dirty- not a look we like to see in the kitchen. It is bothersome and unpleasant to see daily.Another concern is that there are chips in this sink, which are obvious as the white coating covers a grey middle, so the chips stand out as grey chips in a stained white-ish sink. Not sure what caused the chips, but had I known this we would not have ordered this sink. 1 year after purchase the sinks looks stained, dirty and chipped! Clearly a huge issue as the marble was cut to accommodate these sinks which makes replacement with another brand impossible.Would not recommmend the white in the Blanco line for any kitchen. Not sure it the other colors are made with a stronger material and wear better. The white Blanco sinks are a disaster and our only regret for our kitchen remodel.

Having previously bought a Blanco sink of this material for the laundry room, I chose it for my outdoor kitchen. My neighbor used what he thought was a decent quality stainless sink and it gets rusty and other wise nasty (we are 5 blocks off ocean and get a lot of salt spray here). Based on experience with the laundtry room I expect this sink to stay looking great with extremely low effort, so far it's passed the test with ease. Also I really like this sink because it's deeper than most - a nice feature. Finally it's well-priced. I regret not going with this material for the main kitchen sink, it's just awesome stuff - near impossible to damage it.

In the midst of a kitchen remodel, I was struggling to find a sink that would fit in our island that was big enough for a stockpot, but wouldn't eat up too much valuable counter real estate. I knew I didn't want stainless, because the sound of silverware on stainless is ugh. I really wanted cast iron, but I couldn't find anything the right size. I had also seen a fair amount of composite sinks that screamed cheap plastic. It wasn't until a home show I visited that I got a good look at the Silgranit sinks. It's not shiny, it's quiet, and it blends in nicely with my counter tops, so it doesn't draw attention to itself. This sink has survived family dinners, washing out paintbrushes, falling tools and dishes, 3 kids and a rather careless husband, and me accidentally falling into it while trying to clean the light above the island. No scratches, no dings, no stains. I just use a green scrubby sponge to clean it and it looks brand new. If we're having company and I want it to look super clean, I wipe it down with some mineral oil and wipe off the extra and it gives it a nice sheen. If I could change one thing, I would make it perfectly square, to match up better with our main sink, but it's not noticeable unless you really look at it.

We ordered 3 of these Blanco Silgranit II sinks in 3 different sizes - a kitchen sink, a single bowl (prep) sink and a bar sink. This one is the prep sink and material is beautiful and seems very sturdy. Some other reviews have warned that the sink might be damaged in transit, so BE careful and expect the worst! When our sinks arrived, I didn't see how they could be damaged in transit. It seems that Blanco has changed their packing materials and they were all very well packed. The current packaging includes preformed styro foam enclosures that are surrounded by foam-in-place plastic foam bags all inside very heavy duty cardboard boxes. It is almost overkill and it would require the shipper to intentionally try to damage the contents for them to be broken in shipment - like driving over them with a truck. I think you could drop these boxes out of a 2nd story window and everything would be fine inside - seriously, they are that sturdy. And I was thankful that all were so well packed. We chose the Cafe Brown color and it is a beautiful chocolate brown. All of the sinks have deeper bowls and a lot of sink brands and we love that feature! Comprised of 80% ground granite and 20% resin, they have a very solid feel and a quiet sound. The sinks are lighter than you would expect and much lighter than cast iron sinks, although they have a sound similar to cast iron. This model, the single bowl (prep) sink is not designed to be undermounted (according to Blanco), but it's construction looked exactly like the Blanco kitchen and bar sink, so we did an undermount installation on it, too. I did not like the undermount clips that are included with the kitchen & bar sinks and I tossed them. For one, I didn't understand how the clips worked (they are articulated thin metal & plastic and seemed very flimsy) or two, how they would work with solid surface (Corian type) countertops. So, I purchased solid steel undermount clips specifically designed to be glued/epoxied to the underside of solid surface countertops.I think these are great sinks and I'm very happy with the material, this brand and this style of sink!
