The actual hose works great and helped me with my v8 swap. I did not use the couplers because of the reviews but I left them out in the AZ sun for 6 months and there was no sign of dry rotting so if I were to do it again I’d have no problem using them

Bought this product because I have a different engine in my truck than factory, so I needed something that I could customize to fit. The metal tube is the only thing worth anything in this kit. The covers don't fit at all once assembled, so not sure why they are even included. 2nd and most disturbing is the hose they supply is not automotive grade. The hose split within a couple hours of use spilling out all my new radiator fluid onto the street. When I inspected it I realized it was just plain cheap thin rubber. If you compare with a real radiator hose, real hose has fibers in it to keep it together. This stuff is barely a notch above a rubber balloon. If all you need is the metal hose, then you can get this kit, but throw the rest away or it will leave you stranded. You will want to buy some real radiator hose to fit it together. This is the perfect scam because you don't know it will fall apart until you install it and try it out. Then you can't even return it. If you are able to buy just the metal hose at a better price, then that would be worth buying. Also, I made sure the splitting rubber hose was not a result of me leaving a jagged edge on the metal hose after I cut it. I ran my finger across it at many angles and it was just fine. The rubber hose just split because it is not meant for this type of use.

First off ill be the first to admit if this kit fit the bottom radiator hose it would be a 5 star review easily. I gave 4 for this cause its states that it did/ does in the description! At least i couldnt get it too! As far as bendability its better than rubber but cannot do sharp turns you need to route it fairly widely other than that it holds it shape/ weight just fine afterwards. At first glance it seems inferior and quite shitty as far as thought, i thought about returning it but lets be honest the hose is really pretty compared to a rubber eyesore in the engine bay. So i gave it a go with only the items in the box (steel hosing and ends with ok quality clamps) its fairly simple the rubber inserts into the ends and clamps over the hose / barb fittings just fine. Mine hasn't leaked yet to my surprise and im quite happy with it.

I saw a lot of others stating that these leak, and I was concerned if it was just improper installation or a product issue. I'm glad to say, at least in my case, it was NOT a product issue. There are no installation instructions, so here's what I did to get it in without leaking:1. Cut the pipe to the length you need. I recommend using the old hose as a guide and adding about a half inch to each side of the hose. I used a hand saw (coping saw) to cut it, and a metal file to remove the burs and shavings.2. Use some silicone to seal the rubber couplers. If you're using the inner sleeves, like I did, put a small bead of silicone around the outside of the inner sleeve and spread it out. Then slide the sleeve into the coupler and let it dry.3. Use silicone to fill the last few ribs on the ends of the pipe. This is probably one that a lot of people didn't do, and probably a cause of the leaks. I filled the last four ribs on each end of the hose with silicone and let it dry. This gives the rubber coupler a better seal since it has a greater surface area to grip than just the tips of the ribs.4. When installing the couplers onto the pipe, put the sleeve side to the engine or radiator, not the pipe. Pretty simple, it shouldn't fit the other way around.5. Tighten the clamps. I used the included clamps, others said the included clamps came apart, so maybe have some just in case. Just make sure to tighten them quite a bit without destroying them and you should be fine.I've had mine on the highways for a few months and haven't leaked a single drop from them. The look great and will never collapse.

It is exactly as expected. I would have liked to have the collars a little heavier gauge.
