At first I couldn’t cut it, but then realized the razor blade was fairly dull… still sharp enough to be dangerous though. Replaced with a fresh one and suddenly the foam cut very smoothly. This was a good result, showing that except for a very sharp edge, it will resist damage from tools and other such objects put in the toolboxes that this foam will line. After unpacking from a compressed state, it expanded to 7/8” thickness within hours. Not quite the 1” nominal thickness, yet. After a few weeks of breathing and freedom it’s *still* just hair under at 63/64”… perhaps it’ll reach full thickness a few months from now? It’s no issue for me since I don’t need a specific 1” thickness but if someone else does, it could be frustrating.Pricey at $13 for the two, but it’s decent quality and should work well as custom inserts.

The Black Polyurethane Foam Inserts are a great addition for anyone needing extra protection in cases. The material is firm yet cushioned, offering reliable padding for tools, cameras, or other delicate items. The 16 x 12 x 1-inch size is versatile, and the foam is easy to cut for a custom fit. It holds its shape well and absorbs impact effectively. Whether for storage, travel, or organizing equipment, this foam provides a simple and effective solution.

Good quality foam came quick. Arrived vacuum sealed and nice and clean cuts. I was kind of expecting thicker foam like they use for floor mats, but this is till really good. It’s more like the foam that they use in gun cases. Softer and highly flexible. Easy to cut and great size for odd shaped cases. I’m using multiple layers for the case I need. These will do the trick.

It's exactly what it says on the tin. The same type of open-cell foam you'll find in pretty much every padded case for electronics, measuring equipment, and tools. It's a little more difficult to cut cleanly than I expected. I used a brand new #11 X-Acto blade and compressed the foam as far as I could with the item I was padding but the cut was still jagged. Maybe it' s a still (or improper tool) issue. Maybe it's a testament to the toughness of this foam. Either way, it's unlikely that anybody but me will ever see the inside of that case so I'm not terribly worried about perfect edges. If you are, you probably already have a hot wire cutter (which I may or may not buy for when I use the rest of this foam). Thanks, Amazon!

Let me tell you, these Black Polyurethane Foam Sheets are the ninjas of the packing world. Stealthy, adaptable, and surprisingly absorbent (of spilled coffee, I discovered – don't ask). I ordered them expecting, well, foam. But these aren't your grandma's squishy couch cushions. Oh no. These are tactical foam. The "easily cut and shaped" part? They weren't lying. I wielded my kitchen shears like a foam-sculpting samurai, carving out perfect cradles for my prized collection of rubber ducks (don't judge). One duck even got a custom neck pillow! The precision! The artistry! It was like Michelangelo, but with less marble and more… slightly off-gassing polyurethane. The softness? Indisputable. I've considered using them as a mattress topper. (Don't tell my wife.) The durability? They’ve survived multiple accidental drops from various heights (thanks, clumsy cat). The flexibility? Well, they're flexible enough to convince my dog they’re a new chew toy. (He lost that battle.)However, there's a small caveat. The "black" is a deep, brooding, almost menacing black. My wife thinks they look like something you'd find in a villain's lair. She also pointed out the faint smell, which I've endearingly dubbed "the scent of impending protectiveness."Overall? Five stars. Unless you're easily frightened by slightly ominous-looking chunks of black foam, or have a serious aversion to the subtle aroma of manufactured comfort, then I wholeheartedly recommend these to anyone who wants to turn their packing materials into miniature foam-based masterpieces. Just, maybe, don't let your dog near them. Unless you want a very well-padded, slightly foam-flavored dog.

This craft foam is perfect for various projects! However, I find the price slightly high for the quantity provided, as it only includes two pieces of foam. While the quality is good, and the vacuum-packed packaging is appreciated, I would be hesitant to purchase more at this price point. ($12.99) Overall, though, it's still a decent product.

We park 2 cars in the garage during rainy season and our garage is not very large so I’m worried that my car doors would hit the wall. We just painted new wall so I want to keep it new. I hang these foams on the wall where my doors open and it protects the wall and the paint well. I like the softness and thickness of it.
