This worked very good on lining up my timing cover without taking off the oil pan on my 5.3 LS. I was able to tighten bolts while slightly turning the tool making sure nothing was binding. This is a must have if your crank seal is already installed.

You need to have the seal installed in the timimg cover, then you slide this tool over the crankshaft into the timing cover seal.the tool has a rough type finish and looks powdercoated or painted, I don't know if this would affect how precise it is.My only complaint is the price, it's not like it's a forged impact socket or special complicated gadget. It's basically just a spacer with a keyway on the inner diameter AND it made of aluminum. But if you need one, you gotta have one. It's a functional tool, I approve.I Hope My Review And Pictures Were Helpful To You !!

It's a very simple tool, but I find it absolutely necessary. Just slip it on and tighten the bolts down
