Had a previous versus of Gizmo and loved it and brought this one, it worked great for a short time and now does not open the cans... It really is useless at this time. I checked to see if I can return and it is past the deadline to return. Be watchful of the time you can return as the same thing can happen to you when you purchase it. Now have to find another to replace

I should say I had the Original "Gizmo" from 2002 when I bought mine. I just got rid of it last month when he would no longer charge, or open a single can. I had him for 21 years and NEVER had a single problem with my Gizmo and Loved him to death. He NEVER let me down. Of course I didn't pay that ridiculous price their asking now for them, I paid right around $20.00 and everyone told me not to waste my money on it cause they weren't worth it. Well my Gizmo proved them wrong. 21 Years he worked, better than any can opener I have ever had in my Lifetime!! I would never pay what they want for them now, No Way, No How!! They are Ripping people off!! And by the way, I NEVER replaced the battery in my Gizmo in the 21 years I had him either...May he Rest in Paradise! Miss My Gizmo!

I have wanted one of these since I used one several years ago. I just never could make up my mind to spend that kind of money on a can opener! I finally decided I was worth it & ordered me one. I have been disappointed. It hasn’t been worth the money!

I bought this item as NEW, and in item description it states that item is NOT DISCONTINUED by manufacturer even though it was copyrighted 20 years ago, which means to me the item is still manufactured. After opening 3 cans battery was dead. Seller says needs new battery......okay understandable, finally located a replacement battery and still can not open a single can. PRDUCT IS JUNK!To bad I don't open cans very often because it was after return date when this was found out so I'm out $188.00.

This is a great can opener. Had for for many many years, Now need to replace it. I'm heading over to eBay for a better price.

I bought mine in 1999... I begged for it for Christmas from my hubby. I still have the same one today and it still works, still charges and I still love it

Full disclosure- This is by far the best of the best, hands down. It will last between 10-20 years and you will not find a better can opener EVER. That being said, to price these out at 15x the original cost is insane. Especially since you could buy a much cheaper high quality brand new one every single year for 15 years(life expectancy of B&D Gizmo) and still not spend the amount that they are charging for this Gizmo.
