I was really excited about getting this product so I could carry med supplies with me on patrol. The quality of the items are very good. No complaints there.I packed mine with chest seals, gauze, and combat gauze. Was still decently sleek and didn’t take up too much space. However, carrying it on the small of your back on my belt was NOT comfortable.I moved it to the side (roughly 7-8 o’clock), which helped because I was not sitting on it all day. However, getting in and out of the car would push the middle piece (which holds all of the items) out one side of the pouch. I would constantly have to pull it back in.The belt attachments were awful. Basically they were two thin Velcro straps. They would come loose or off after a shift or two.I’m sure placing them elsewhere on the belt would be fine or even on a vest. Perhaps if this is on a “call out” rig and not an every day west would be best.

I looked at many IFAKs out there, before deciding on the Blue Force Micro Trauma Kit and the Medium Trauma Kit. The Micro is one of the smallest, well constructed/thought out, easy to deploy IFAKs out there. The Medium is just as easy to deploy. I bought two Micro Kits (gave one to a Marine buddy of mine) and one Medium Kit as empty shells, so that I could stock them myself, based on the specific needs of my mission. I stocked both Micros with Celox Rapid, H&H Mini Compression Bandage, 2 each HyFin Compact Chest Seal Twin Packs, Frog Tape 2x9 Adhesive Strip, Size 28 Pre-Lubed Nasal Airway, TyTek Decompression Needle, one pair of latex gloves and a small Sharpie black pen. That being said, Blue Force does a pretty good job outfitting the kit with basic trauma gear that fits well and compactly. I mount the Micro vertically, in the 8-9 o’clock position (weak side) of my gear belt and find that to be the most comfortable and easily accessible location for my purposes. The center-of-back mounting option is a back killer if you’re going to be seated in a vehicle for any extended period of time (as will any kit mounted in that position). With the Medium Kit (basically a bag with an internal/removable sled) you can pretty much carry double the capacity of the Micro Kit. There’s also room for two 4” Israeli Bandages and a place to mount a tourniquet on the outside lid. I wanted the reflective red cross on the Medium Kit, but it was no longer available. The reason given to me, was because an “organization” claimed a copyright infringement and Blue Force was told to cease and desist. If you still want red, buy some reflective red tape and cut it to fit. Customize your gear and make it your own (Not a deal breaker). I have put the Micro Kit through some long, tough hours, banging it against the door jambs of transport vehicles and buildings going on three years now. The material has no tears or fraying, the elastic shows no signs of stretching, and the stitching is as tight as day one. The Medium Kit usually stays in the transport vehicle as a redundancy, and still looks brand new. Whatever or wherever your op, I highly recommend the Blue Force Micro and/or Medium Trauma Kit.

This is a good product overall as far as purpose. As far as for patrol use, probably not a good option. I had it mounted on the rear of my belt and it's bulkiness prevents me from sitting in my squad car comfortably. Definitely can't wear it for an 8 hour shift. Thigh rig might be a better option.

I paid for the entire item but only received the outer sleeve, not the internal insert that actually holds medical supplies. On top of that it didn't even come with the IR cross insert. Just buy it from the blue force gear website, it's cheaper there anyway. Paid $80 for an elastic sleeve with belt loops.

The pouch is right, but it’s not the version with the reflective cross (as pictured). It comes with a blue cross. I know the inserts can be bought separately, but come on seller. It’s not a cheap pouch and I’m not looking forward to paying another $10 plus shipping to change the cross. I specifically need the reflective cross because of working at night. Update the listing picture to the version with the blue cross.
