I bought this at Fry's Electronics, back in the 1990s when it was a great place to get tech equipment. I've used it several times every week since then. I often take it into the field, on top of all my tools and parts. It has been jostled around a LOT.I eventually had to add a strain relief to the test leads when they broke. I've also blown out the input fuse a few times when I selected the wrong amp range when doing current measurements.The readings are fast and accurate. I actually prefer to NOT have autorange, because I can't stand waiting for it to find the correct range.

This meter has high checking values especially in the capacitance ranges. However, it will blow if the capacitors are not drained before checking them! Especially the high micro farad electrolytic s. I know I have 3 of these meters 2 are blown due to this fact!

Spent several hours researching electrical component testers, always came back to this one, it was wrapped safely, looks and works great ,has a thick rubber slip on or off housing protector ,thats really cool, glad we got this one, recommended .It doesn't do everything but it takes more then one devise to cover all the possabilitys, got it for my electrical engineering student son.
