Easy to use but i have not noticed anything special with this detergent. I have not noticed any less allergens in our home. I find it similar to a deep cleaning one.

In this world where most products are overly fragranced, this one is not. This is the first carpet shampoo that I have used that did not set off my fragrance sensitivity issues. The shampoo did a good job at cleaning the carpets too. I followed the instructions but found it had great lather, therefore I diluted it even more than my carpet cleaner did.

the scented stuff just made me ILL. With this I can shampoo my carpets with my big green clean machine and the air simply smells fresh not parfum'd

My family has sensitive skin and I try to use products that don’t break us out. This kind is available at our stores. I love that it does not have a strong scent but I am still getting things clean.

I rented a Rug Doctor upright carpet cleaner and used this cleaning solution on my home carpets. I am very sensitive to smell, hate fake fragrances and this didn't bother me at all. My carpets are older and very dark in color so I don't know exactly how clean it got them which may be more noticeable on a lighter carpet but the dirty water that I emptied from the machine was pretty nasty. I also could have done more passes with the machine, but had only used one once before many years prior and was figuring it out again. As I progressed along I did start to do that and I was able get what looked like a much deeper clean and noticed that the stains faded. If I wasn't in such a time crunch to return the rental and had remembered to pre-treat the stains (which are harder to see on my dark carpet), I could have improved the cleaning power. I am really satisfied with the results anyway. The hardest and most time consuming part was having to move around my furniture to get to all areas of the carpet. If this product could do that for me, it would be perfect. lol

I used this on my couch and it worked great.I recently moved into a new house with quick turnaround so the landlords weren’t able to clean as thoroughly as they wanted to. The previous tenants had cats, which my boyfriend is allergic to. Because of this, the dander trapped in the carpet was making him stuffy and causing asthma attacks. I vacuumed the house several times a day to try to remove the dander. This vacuuming kicked up some of the dander causing it to get onto the couch. The shampooer I used for the carpet had mixed reviews about use on upholstery, so I did not want to take the chance and got this one instead. It worked perfectly!I diluted the shampoo according to directions, then sprayed it all over the couch using a spray bottle. I let this sit for about 30 minutes, then used my shampooer to clean the couch. My boyfriend was able to comfortably sit and lay on the couch after it was shampooed; no more asthma attacks!

I never tried the "Professional" formula so I cannot compare the 2, but I can tell you this Allergan formula did a very good job on our medium-high pile carpets and did it without a strong fragrance. Our pets were walking in the rooms I cleaned as soon as we let them, and they would have steered clear if there was any trace of a strong odor. It does appear to have helped with the wife's pollen allergies and our nephews pet allergies, however it is required to shampoo quite often to keep up this protection (Bissell recommends once a month). I could not find this Allergan formula in our area so I am glad Amazon had it and Amazon's price appears to be very good compared against the other types I was able to find locally. But note, as at least one other reviewer stated, pay close attention to the price for the different sizes. At the time of my purchase the 60 oz. size was a good deal, but the 24 oz. size was not, as it cost almost as much as the 60 oz.
