Flavor is a slight variant on other Earl Grey tea's I've had before, and very enjoyable. Rich flavor and sachets are convenient.

LOVE the quality and the flavor. Tea is not as strong/heavy as other oolong teas, and caffeine level seems slightly under what is listed, based on feel - which I am okay with! I love the way this tastes and smells. Steeps well, I steep for no longer than 4.5 minutes at proper temperature, and it turns out dark and not over-steeped. Would absolutely get again and try other flavors, even with the less-than-ideal price!

I was surprised when I opened this tin because I wasn't expecting teabags in the little can as all the others from this brand were loose leaf. It tastes like a nutty black tea, very pleasant. The bags are nylon pyramid style sachets. At an MSRP of 19.95 (at time of review) it seems a bit expensive despite the nice little tin it comes in. That's 1.33 a cup which isn't the most egregious it's still not a lot considering the value of some other teas. I really liked it but I wish it was cheaper.

The scent of the tea when you open the tin is very pleasant. The tea leaves are high quality. I brew and steep in it in hot water for about 4 minutes and the flavor I get is just right for me as you can still taste the flavor of the tea without it being too bold.

This Rufous Pekoe tea from Birdsong is a delightful loose-leaf orange pekoe and one of the more flavourful blends I've experienced. :) The fragrance from the dried loose leaves could be smelled the moment I opened the tin and I was impressed to see that the 100 grams advertised in the tin was accurate as the tin was full to the very brim.Brew time was only five minutes for a robust woodsy black tea. The spice notes came through clearly and the leaves are high quality as I was able to brew a second and even third pot with the same leaves.I think the concept of the birds to match the tea flavours is super cute and this tin looks very attractive. If the company can make the tin decorative, I may have to start collecting them. But as-is, the tea is high quality and impressive so I am hopeful to try more when I run out of this one.If you like black teas with woodsy notes and a hint of spiciness, this orange pekoe is sure to not disappoint and I'd highly recommend it as it's one of the more affordable luxury loose-leaf teas.

Not sure why the first pic in the listing says 15-pack, there is only one 3.5oz (100g) box. Be careful when you lift up the lid to open it, the tea leaves may spill out. The tea leaves are in the box directly, not in a separate bag.Brewed this up, smelled so good, tasted good without milk or sugar. Tasted like Ceylon tea to me also, which I guess is reasonable since Assam and Ceylon are in the same region of the globe. I normally brew my tea twice, so I did the same with this. The second brew was very light, I would not recommend it. First brew was very good. I bet it would probably be even better with condensed milk!

Birdsong has excellent teas and are very eco friendly. The Assam wasn't as bold I was hoping for. But, I like my black teas very strong. I will still drink and serve to guest as it's a quality tea.

This is an excellent tea! I've had a few different flavors from this brand and have always been impressed, but this one has been my favorite so far! To be clear, it doesn't have any "cream" in it (which is good, because I hate cream). Instead, the "creaminess" in the flavor is caused by additions of dried fruits and flowers that give it a kind of mellow, "round," vanilla-y mouth feel. I find it to be a beautiful compliment to the natural crispness of Earl Grey. Honestly, this might be my favorite tea ever! The tin itself is also quite nice and looks fancy. This would make an excellent gift (e.g., as part of a gift basket or as a stocking stuffer) for the tea lover (or maybe even just the Star Trek TNG lover) in your life!
