It got 5- below last night here in michigan and the bird heater water fountain keep up. The birds love it. It took the birds like 3 days to get use to it. I'm happy with the heated fountain. And the birds appreciate it. Definitely worth getting.

I’ve replaced several bird bath warmers. I decided to try this model since it had a pump built in, and I wouldn’t have to buy a water mover as well. So far it works great, and the bath is crowded with birds everyday. There is a small “sponge’ that acts as a filter and is easily removed for cleaning. The unit is much less noticeable than other models.m

I purchased this last year. I loved the spray element of this bird bath warmer, but unfortunately it stopped spraying within just a few weeks. I suspect the small intake holes became clogged since the birds' bathing left substantial dirt in the water. I tried cleaning it to no avail. Nonetheless, it still prevents the water from freezing, even with near zero temps and mounds of snow around the edge of the bird bath. It is heavy enough to stay in place, but still light enough to lift up when cleaning the bird bath.

Works and looks great! About day 4, it got really cold and warm water tends to evaporate at a quicker rate, well it dried up and the pump quit. I took the 2 screws out holding the pump in, gave it some pretty hard taps on the side while kind of spinning the pump in my hard and it broke free and started spinning again, make sure it’s been submerged for awhile so it’s lubed up with water. The pump is a low voltage dc pump so it doesn’t take much to stop it. If that didn’t work I was going to stick a pipe cleaner and try to spin the auger manually to get it going again. Anyhow good lesson, keep it full of water, especially when it’s super cold and evaporates at a faster rate.

I wasn’t totally convinced this heater with a small fountain would keep the birds water dish from freezing.( diameter approximate -24”+ , depth 2 1/2-3”. Big and shallow.)However, during the current Arctic Blast here in the piedmont of NC, night time temperatures are between 5 and 19 degrees. The temperature is staying at the low end at night and below low freezing durning the day . Every morning I would have to go out and dump the solid ice block out of the dish, pounding on it several times. Not a pleasant task in frigid temperatures. I then I would refill it with barely lukewarm water. I saw this little deicer on sale and thought I would risk $19 on an experiment.Best money I ever spent!! The water does freeze around the edges of the dish in places but leaves plenty of slightly warm water free of ice with small ripples. My birds are drinking more than they did before I put in the little heater. I can now wait until the sun is totally up before venturing outside! I’m sure they are telling all their avian friends where the water is as I see lots more of them drinking then before. An added perk is it has drawn several new species I have not seen in the yard.If this little heater dies before winter is over I’ll be sure to buy another one asap. It’s only been in the dish for 4 days and night, with extreme low temperatures at night and days below freezing. My birds and I are very happy! The squirrels love it as well.A bit of a negative point. It is a little light in weight. I would like it to be a little heavier but adding a rock keeps the pump submerge,so works really well.

This item says it is thermostatically controlled - to shut off if the temperature is over 118F, and to come on if the temperature is below 68F - not sure why you would need a heater if the temperature is nearly 70 degrees, but whatever. Putting it in my birdbath it did not want to sit flat and had to be weighted around the edges. It also froze up at 10F and had to be thawed with hot water, unplugged and removed. The one-year warranty is also void "if the product has been damaged by accident, inappropriate use, neglect, tampering or other factors RESULTED FROM DEFECTS IN MATERIAL OR WORKMANSHIP." So, really no warranty at all.I guess it's great if you want a fountain in your birdbath, but if you want to actually keep the water from freezing and you aren't in zone 8 or higher, you are just out of luck.

lollyes Bird Bath Heater assists me in bathing my birds in the aviary, it is very easy to use and performs well, and it looks nice. I like this product because it is inexpensive and functional. This bird bath heater includes a fountain pump, providing both a means to prevent freezing and an aesthetic water feature. The pump helps circulate the water, preventing it from becoming stagnant and freezing.Power Rating (70W): The 70-watt power rating indicates the amount of power the heater requires to operate. This power is likely used to generate heat and power the fountain pump. Ensure that you have an appropriate power source to accommodate the device.Color: Black: The black color is not only likely for aesthetic reasons but can also help absorb sunlight, contributing to the heating process during the day.Thermostatically Controlled: The mention of thermostatic control implies that the bird bath heater is equipped with a thermostat to regulate the temperature automatically. This is a useful feature for energy efficiency and maintaining an optimal temperature for birds in varying weather conditions.3.3ft Cord: The 3.3-foot cord provides the necessary length for connecting the heater to a power source. Ensure that the cord length is suitable for your outdoor setup and that it allows for a safe and convenient placement.Birdbath Deicer: In addition to preventing freezing, the device serves as a birdbath deicer, ensuring that birds have access to liquid water even in freezing temperatures.Heated Bird Bath for Garden Birdbath: The product is specifically designed for use in garden birdbaths, providing a winter-friendly environment for birds.
