the bowls will cut your birds feet open be careful! My little cockatiel had 2 cuts on his feet and thankfully i noticed it soon and got some blood stopping powder on it! as longg as you dont use the bowls it is pretty nice and easy to clean, the plastic gets pretty scratched up after a while but my bird loves being able to go on adventures outside of the house and using it to travel to the vet is also very handy.

I love it. My bird hates it.

I received the bag today, but the rope and the dishes were not inside the bag. Has anybody else have this issue?

I was disappointed with backpack as it was smaller than I anticipated. Don’t feel it is big enough for an African Gray Parrot as there is barely any room to move around. It is more for smaller birds.

This was an upgrade from a similar sized pet carrier that only had mesh windows - it was so dark inside with the thick black mesh, I could barely see the birds and I think they could barely see outside. This one is a world of difference and we're never going back. The first time going in, my two conures were naturally hesitant. By the third day, they went into the carrier as willingly as they do into their cage at the end of the day!! Now that they know it means more time with their humans and a beautiful 180-degree view of a world they otherwise would not get to see, they are happy to go into the bag and out with us.The window is so clear, it's a great view inside and out. The birds are completely calm on the inside, they feel safe even when cars drive by, strangers gawk at them, or a wild bird flies overhead. They enjoy eating their food and perching either on the actual perch or on the lip of the window. They are rapt with attention to everything going on, soaking it all in - especially the warm sunshine! The container is semi-rigid. It will not collapse in on itself under normal circumstances but would also not hold up to, say, falling off a bike or some other crushing weight. The perch has a flexible metal rod going through it and can be mounted higher or lower depending on preference. The food/water trays clip on to the perch. This is *ok* but not ideal - it's hard to keep them upright and the water can spill easily. I'm going to experiment with freezing it so the birds can enjoy slowly melting ice water over a longer period of time. There's a wheatgrass-plastic tray at the bottom that isn't structural like some carriers but does help to alleviate some of the mess and reduce the frequency of washing the entire carrier. The window can be wiped clean but is plastic and prone to scratching. Over time I fear it will lose clarity due to more scratches, but hope to get at least a couple of years of use out of it first.Wearing the backpack is comfortable on the back, not as much in the front. Besides the main zipper (the entire window opens and folds down) there is a small mesh side hole for possibly changing out food/water dishes, a couple of pockets for accessories/treats, and inside is a clip for a harness leash if your bird uses it.Obviously this review is very bird centered, as is the product. You could use it for other small animals, but even the smallest kittens, puppies, or the larger varieties of small creatures like ferrets, cockatoos, and full size parrots/macaws, would find this carrier too small. It is ideal for conures, cockatiels, and other small parrots. We (humans and birds alike) are really, really loving this carrier and all the adventures it takes us on together!!

This backpack is adorable but be warned. If you have a little woodchipper or paper shredder of a conure (as most are) the 'screen door' on one side will immediately become an easy exit route. The rope perch was surprisingly sturdy and pliable. Clip on food/water dishes are great!! Made hurricane evacuation a breeze but definitely need to keep an eye out for nibblers.
