I had to add a 3/4” wood piece to elevate the front tire sufficiently so the pedal would clear the stationary bike stand.

This stand just helps disperse the weight of my front tire while on rollers. It does provide ample stability and does not create as deep of a depression in the carpet or pad. It worked really well with my 1.75 street tires (mounted on my hybrid that is usually mounted on the trainer) though it did not seem to do as well for the 1.95 knobby tire. It was fine for both and felt stable enough with the larger tire, but it just didn't seem to seat into the groove as well. Since it also raises the tire a bit, it is now more level since the back is lifted by the rollers. Certainly a nice little bit of extra stability for the price.

I use this block on top of a foam exercise tile, which should have more grip than a typical hardwood floor would. This doesn't appear to resist skidding any more than another design would, so I'm dinging it for that. Otherwise a pretty standard block.
