Really nice compact section that interfaces with the race and steer tube. The friction fit o-ring is a nice feature. However, I chose this of the many options with intent to use it with my longer, proper race setting tube for 1⅛ with top end having the solid dome for a hammer. I purchased this lower portion as an extension to my own 1⅛ tool just to fit over the 1½ taper. I was careful to measure the height of my tapered steer tube section, determining this would be long enough to not meet the taper with the narrower 1⅛ opening. Everything fit fine and interfaced the Wolf Tooth IS race squarely and evenly, contacting only the metal and not the flexible lipped race seal.The shake weight hammer tube is not the proper way to apply blows to the race setting tool and should be omitted. A proper length of heavy tube with the hardened dome for a hammer at the top should be included or seperately available instead. The correct way to set the race is with crisp heavy blows, not awkward weak slide hammer strikes.
