The packaging includes information about the evolution and working life of the engine, upon which this wooden replica is based. The original Rocket Engine was built in 1829 by George Stephenson. The Rocket Engine eventually proved that steam locomotion would work for the railways. This delightful replica of the famous Rocket Engine features the yellow locomotive with its large wheels and smokestack, and a coal car. Compatible with most wooden railway systems on the market. Each train in the Bigjigs Heritage Collection is beautifully made and features bespoke packaging which includes details of the engine's history, where the engine is located now, and also an image of the original locomotive upon which the replica is based. The Rocket Engine measures 5-3/4" and is suitable for use by children ages 3 - 8 years.

The build quality is superb. My son loves these trains and plays with them for hours.They can withstand a 2 year old playing with them and so far has not broken.Great purchase

A nice item. The funnel is held together in the middle by a string so that it will pass through tunnels. The pistons do no move. It says Rocket on the side. My son already has Stephen but he likes this one as well. Lively and unusual; educational. Human powered.
