We had a 12 year old automatic can. This is slightly shorter but it's solid. Actually, the opening is wider and the top stays up longer. Easy bag changes and looks about the same.

We had a sudden outbreak of roaches because of a neighbor. I needed a way to keep my garbage safe from the insects. I bought this and it solved the problem completely. It uses four large batteries and the top automatically opens when you hover a few inches above it, and slams shut on its own a few seconds later with a tight seal. Most highly recommended.

No more having to use your hands to open the kitchen garbage can to put peelings, opened cans and any other kitchen trash in it. I really like not having to use my hand(s) to open it, or a foot pedal either. Just a wave over the top and like magic, it opens, and stays open. Then will close by itself. How easy is that!

This is the best! My daughter saw it in my kitchen and has tried to steal it! I guess I will have to purchase it for her! :) Nevertheless, it worth the buy. No issues. Easy to assemble and use. Wish the batteries came with it.

Ive had this can over a year now, As with any kitchen trash it's never pleasant or smells good but this helps when trash has to be in the open.We have our trash across from the fridge and occasionally a passer or person opening the fridge sets it off if your standing near the sensor.Keeps the cats and dogs out of the trash just remember to keep it clean and change the batteries!!Quality surprised even the most judgemental husband. Stainless steel or metal Fingerprint proof from my experience. Great little can and buttons have held up! Love the bag liner to keep the bag in place as well as the sensor for cooking no touch!!The kids all find it neat and want to throw the trash away. Kinda creeps cats out and dogs in my house, one is afraid and the other likes to set it off to see if it will be quiet and she knows she's busted everytime it opens. 🤣Great product, has held up well and I am buying another September 2023. 👍

I have had this for a few months. First of all, the sensors for the opening function are not like the videos you've seen. You must have a certain color, usually white works best, item over the sensor. Also, The item must be close to the sensor to open the lid. I bought this for my "Man Cave" room. I wanted to impress people. It does not. It is Whimpey. If you hover your hand over the sensors more than 1/2 inch away, it will not open. If you adjust the volume on your TV with a remote control, it will open with no one near the lid. If you press the "open" button, the one that is supposed to open the lid until you press the "CLOSE" button. That open button ignores you. Press it over and over. It will work, eventually. This trash can is like owning a cat. It does not obey you like a pet dog would. It is like a cat. It does what you ask when it wants to. And only if you feed it. The batteries I bought are rechargeable. It says it will work with a fully charged battery for 10,000 cycles? Really? Only if it wants to. And NEVER place anything on top of it. I give this a 3-star. It does open with the sensor. It does open and close with the buttons. The batteries do not last long. It is now my favorite thing that hates authority. I would not buy this thing. But I did. Harumph!!!

I bought this about 2 weeks ago and when I was checking out I had to pay $35 for shipping on top of the $35 for the trash can.. no big deal.. I just wanted a nice one for my new kitchen. The day I got it we bought new batteries and tried to use it. The top only opened about half the times we waved in front of it and we always had to be about an inch from the sensors for it to even work. I got totally fed up when I walked by and it opened like I hadn’t tried 50 times with my hand before that! When returning the item I had to pay another $30 to send it back and I contacted the seller to let them know it was defective and I would like a refund. They gave me 2 options. I can either get a full refund or they can sell me new parts for $10 off.. I was annoyed by this but just let them know I wanted a refund. I also asked to be refunded the shipping I paid and they responded with “if you would have contacted us earlier we would have sent you a label but we can’t reimburse you.” How does that make any sense?! I had to pay for a broken item AND pay to have it shipped to me AND pay to have it shipped back and all they are willing to cover is the cost of the item. Everything about this company and situation just bothered me. I went to Walmart and literally got the same one.. that actually works.. for $34.. this had been a huge waste of time and money
