This little bad boy is the bomb!!! We used it to pull out some concrete posts that were almost 4 feet deep. We did have to dig out a bit, but once we hooked this up we were able to ratchet the cement right out. We also removed cinder blocks that were buried. I highly recommend this tool. It paid for itself the first time we used it!!!

Using it to pull short lengths of 2x4 wire fencing snug. Works, but too light for anything more.

I don't use come-along tools very often, and I had high hopes of this product to be great. Sadly, it was not a good tool. Most applications for a tool of this nature is to lift heavy object on a job site. It certainly would fail in that regard. Too clumsy, and hard to handle. Another application for this tool is to pull a vehicle out of a jam. I cannot imagine wanting to "bet my life" on this tool saving me!! If you're looking to have a come-along on hand for light duty rarely used situation, this tool my serve that purpose. Be aware however, that is a very difficult to use, and in a stressful situation might get you seriously injured. Trying to be objective about this product, I have to say that you can make it work. That said, I believe in spending a bit more money on a product you can trust to work each and every time.

Upon receipt looked for the Operators Manual..found a single page with poor picture w/labled parts. Absolutely nothing about the proper operation. O.K. not rocket science...after a half hour of frustration, gave up attempting to release cable. Next day determined that cable was jammed and removed racheting pawl. It then required 3 hands and a hammer to release the cable. Cable release is of poor design requiring undue finger strength.

I used this straight out of the box today to pull a small 1.2 ton work truck 2 meters off of muddy patch and back onto the asphalt. The ratcheting mechanism didn't work very well and then the metal bracket that held the hook snapped. The metal just shattered. Mangled my hand, sent me to the hospital, and sent the work truck down down a valley smashing into a tree. I highly doubt there was anything close to 2 tons worth of force involved here. I would only use this for pulling fence tighter or other very low risk tasks.

I was unable to use it because the cable cannot be moved to lower the moveable hook even when the tension lever on the hook wheel is in the position to allow the cable reel to move freely.

Although no instructions were provided on the use of the tool, we were able to figure it out by looking at the diagram. Everything went smoothly and we were able to upright the Leyland Cypress tree which was leaning over. Very handy tool, well constructed and reasonably priced. I would recommend this tool for lifting or moving objects which are not extremely heavy. Light to moderate household use is suggested and definitely a life saver for middle aged people with limited strength and range of motion involving the leg and arm joints

If you'll read my other reviews they should show I don't use ALL CAPS, nor am I a complainer. This is(hopefully) the single exception because this is a poorly made, potentially dangerous product. The mechanism to release the pawl to take the tension off the cable was improperly assembled, I should have taken that as an indication that this was a bad product, but I tried it out anyway.CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OWNING TO POOR CONSTRUCTIONFirst use under a moderate (less than 200 pound) load the end of the cable came loose from the factory swaged connection.Thankfully the only injury was a scratched hand. The mechanism to release the pawl to take the tension off the cable was improperly assembled, I should have taken that as an indication that this was a bad product, but I tried it out anyway.RETURNED FOR FULL REFUND.I should have read and heeded the many negative reviews - DO NOT TRUST THIS DANGEROUSLY FLAWED PRODUCT!
