I want something fast, this doesn't even come close, I want precision or as close as I can get. I'll make my own out of 3/8 acrylic

It's very good, very solid. Holds a large router very well. Lots of space for new screw holes for pretty much any type of router! Small or Large! I recommend it because for a lower price budget, if can't afford the more expensive ones with height adjustment, it's a very good substitute.

Should’ve bought an aluminum plate! This phenolic plate was flat and performed well for 10 hours of use. Sat in the shop unused for a year before that so even though the product is 2 years old, the crack was noticed after 9 hours of use. The plate is now structurally unsafe. I have a 2HP router hanging from it. Perhaps too much torque. Replacement will be metal!

I put a straight edge across the base longways and found it had what appeared to be a huge gap in the middle. I pulled out my feeler gauges and micrometer to get a real measurement. It did turn out the reflection I suppose made it look twice as bad as it was. The actual measurement was 1/32" low in the middle at the edge of the black plastic next to the rings. That might not sound like much, but when using something like a beading cutter, round over bit and many others, this would be 'easily' visible on your project. It would make a difference on fitting parts together. It's just not an accurate insert. I did reach out to Big Horn via their website to find out what to do and received no response.I have now completed the request to return this product and will not try another one. Quite simply this is an inferior insert. Sadly the rest of it seemed to have good design and nice features. Just poor execution.

I had just got done routing out for the plate and was getting ready to post a great review, BUT as I was hand tightening the corner screws I snapped off one corner... I also own a Rousseau plate and they look identical. I have not snapped the corner off that one???The main reason I bought this one was the Rousseau is about $45 and this one is $26. I will not say it's their fault ie bad material or ???, but I will say I'm shocked it broke so easily. The next one will either aluminum or acrylic. It sure won't be this type of material which reminded me of Bakelite (a brittle plastic/composite).I did not find it to be a big deal drilling to mount my PC base and all in all it's still usable assuming I don't snap any other corners. I would think they could make this less brittle... oh well life goes on!

Wish I had read and believed the reviews that said this table insert was not level. It is NOT level, and adding the weight of a router will only pull it into a more concave (from the top-down perspective) shape - INCREASING how un-level it is!1 - The entire purpose of a router table is that with this tool one can accurately (within tolerances) use the table to mill various pieces of work both large and small to a uniform dimension with a router/router bit. 1A - The ability of the tool to perform this action is entirely dependent upon the table being level and true to the router bit/head.2 - Since this table is NOT level, but is *CONCAVE* (from top-down perspective) and off by at least 1/16" then small pieces will be routed on a slope (very DANGEROUS) and large pieces will have uneven millwork on the ends where the slope of this *CONCAVE* table insert brings any piece safely held down under the influence of it's slope. This was a budget table insert, but that should be due to the cheaper materials and the fact that it will obviously break (unlike aluminum table inserts). But even considering this the insert plate should at *least* be level. I now need to try to bring this plate into proper level by using a heat gun.Don't waste your money on this one. Walk away and buy a better one from a better company. Don't make the mistake I did and hope that you can get by with this more affordable option.MESSAGE TO THE COMPANY (Big Horn):As a chemical engineer with many years of molding experience I can't express just how much of a disappointment this is. The probability that your molding is out of level is incredibly minute, and that means that you cared SO LITTLE about the quality of this incredibly CHEAP TO MAKE product that you decided you could not afford the extra 10-20 minutes to let the polymer reaction cool and pulled the product from the mold while it was too hot. FURTHER - to add insult to injury - you couldn't even let the unit cool on a true level surface. Even pulling the slab from the mold while hot could have yielded a level product if you had but placed it on a warm level surface to completely anneal.I will never buy another product from your company again. It is obvious that you've so little respect for your customers when you can't be bothered to take the incredibly cheap low-cost manufacturing practices to make even the most basic of items.

These is very well made and well worth Money -- Off center black pucks are to lock in opening work very well - Also includes 4 magnets that get set in corners and setscrews to adjust depth -- Would highly Recommend and buy again.Drill all holes slowly from top to bottom and do not use brad point bits - plastic will blow out causing chips -Only Con -- No Instructions at ALL -- not really needed but would have been nice -- Excellent Product

You get what you pay for. I mounted it up and it works great for me. Sits perfectly flat in my table with no shimming. If you know what you’re doing, it should work great. It wasn’t meant to replace top of the line products.
