I recently received a testimonial from a service technician in Wichita, Kansas. He told me his customer brought in a 2006 Chevy with 3.6L engine, and the oil light was on. It had been 15,000 miles since the last oil change! Her engine was completely sludged, and it actually sounded like a diesel. The technician figured it needed a new engine; but then remembered his BG rep talking about a BG EPR® Engine Performance Restoration®. The tech admitted he didn’t think it would work; but what the heck. He cleaned the valve cover and pan and did two oil changes using BG EPR®. Much to his surprise, halfway through the second service, the engine quieted and smoothed out. He saved that lady several thousand dollars, and she’s still driving the car today! The longer I work at BG, the more I’m amazed at what all of our products do. In the last several years, I’ve heard great things about BG EPR® from technicians from here to Nigeria. Since the introduction of BG EPR® (originally named BG 109) in 2005, we’ve seen nothing but OUTSTANDING test results. 109The results are in: BG EPR® is outstanding! Original testing of BG EPR® consisted of performing before and after compression tests with an oil change including BG EPR® in between. Compression affects the overall power output and drivability of the engine. Results from multiple vehicles proved that BG 109 did raise compression. The results also showed an improvement on individual cylinders that were showing lower compression than the other cylinders of the same engine. this stuff does what it says - i had a good amount of sludge on my 2013 Honda Pilot and this cleaned up most of it. Dip stick is now silver instead of brown and i see a lot less sludge through the oil cap hole. Left is my oil after 5000 miles before cleaning, right is after running the BG EPR for 20 mins

Disclaimer: I am in no way sponsored or affiliated with BG Products! I bought this with my own money. We bought my wife’s 2015 Volvo XC60 with a 2.0T engine. Immediately we noticed excessive oil burning due to the known piston ring defect. It burned 1.75 qts. In 1,500 miles. I did some research and watched a few YouTube videos of people showing their success with this product but was still skeptical. With no guarantee of Volvo completing a “goodwill repair” since I just bought the car and didn’t have the maintenance history from the previous owner, I gave EPR a shot. I ran the engine at 1,500 rpm for 20 minutes, and when I drained the oil, it was pitch black. I now run Valvoline Restore and Protect to keep the engine clean and continue to clean the engine. So far the car has been driven 350 miles with no consumption, and the level is at max. Just for reference, the car should’ve burned 12 oz of oil by this point. This product definitely works even though I can’t fully comment on how much the consumption has been reduced in, say, 1k miles, etc. Either way, I’m extremely satisfied and a believer in BG Products.

It cleans out the engine of carbon deposits and sludge buildup. Especially effective in well-cared for engines where the oil has been changed regularly as fear of dislodging large chunks of carbon or sludge that can block small oil ports is greatly reduced. Used as directed, this clear additive should make the waste oil come out black as the Labrea Tar pit. Make sure you remove the oil pan before you add new oil to ensure all sludge is wiped clean preventing it from polluting fresh oil.

I bought this because I had a quote from my local garage to service my 2007 LR Discovery and this was on the list of all the service parts. If it's good enough for my local LR independent then it's good enough for me.

Great product can really see a different in the oil when used.

It was easy enough to use. I can’t really tell a difference; truck seems to run a little cooler but, the normal semi transparent dark oil I usually get during oil changes was definitely a lot darker and dirtier so maybe it cleaned it out a little better than normal

I don't write too many reviews unless I'm very impressed, That being said I saw this product on YT, thought I'd try it out. I've tried a lot of cleaners and I never really noticed any real performance change after treatment but that changed with this product, my engine sounds smoother and a more responsive. I do all my own car maintenance, change my oil and filter every 5k-7k as well as air filter. I have 197k on my 2012 Nissan Frontier VQ40DE 4.0 Still running like a champ and now as the engine ages I use this cleaner every other oil change. I would highly recommend trying this product out. Nothing beats regular oil changes but this stuff is like a vitamin for your engine.

2011 Audi A4 2.0 TSI w/ 95k milesI added this to the oil already in my motor that had about 4k miles on it and was brown in color. I let it run for about 35 minutes, varying the RPMs from 1500 to 2500. When I drained the oil from the pain it was pitch black. I left the drain plug out and just let it drain till it was just a drip every couple minutes. I put the plug in, changed the filter, and added fresh oil. I ran that for a couple days to make sure it got any remaining solvent left in the system. I then drained that, changed the filter, and put in Amsoil 5w40. My motor is now butter smooth and is noticeably quieter at idle. I took the car for a test drive and it runs great! I can't wait to do this to my truck!

I was a non-believer until now. Being a car guy and always hearing about this stuff, and seeing the professional shops pushing it I did my research. I thought what the heck I'll try this stuff out once during an oil change. This stuff truly works. I'm a die hard fix my own car kind of guy. After using this stuff and the BP MOA oil additive the car runs so smoothly. Better than before. We have a 2015 Jaguar XF 2.0 Liter turbo with 145,000 miles on it.After the first use, and the fresh oil was put in the engine, I checked it after a week.I have never seen the oil so clean. As if the car had a fresh engine installed. Car guys know what im talking about. Older engines gunk up and carbon up. Even after an oil change the oil never looks like the oil in a fresh engine. This stuff really cleaned the inside of the engine to the point the oil looks cleaner even after driving the car around... just wow. Cleaner oil means better lubrication. That combined with the BP MOA oil additive is a game changer. I take good care of all my cars and this stuff is now part of the regular maintenance routine. There are a lot of gimmick products out there, but these BP products are awesome. I am now a believer!

My 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Limited has had an oil consumption issue and lifter tick since I bought it used with 83K miles. It has 216K miles now and I have to add about a quart of oil every 600 miles. Previously, thinking it was an oil leak, I tried ATP 205 twice, to no effect. I used an engine sludge product called Auto-RX twice when I bought but it didn't help with the oil consumption. I tried Restore Engine Restorer which helped with improving compression, but it didn't fix the oil consumption. I always used synthetic oil - Pennzoil Platinum or Mobil 1 but later I switched to hi mileage synthetic blend and that didn't help. At 215K miles the engine performance was very sluggish and the engine struggled going up hill. I got the engine hot, then did an BG EPR flush cycle for 20 mins. I added a can of Engine Restorer and filled with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. Immediately the loud engine lifter tick disappeared. There used to be a slight puff of dark smoke on first start (not the valve stem seals, I replaced those) and that disappeared too. The engine is running amazing. It always idled smoothly, but now it's so quiet I can't tell if it's on. Performance is completely restored to new. It's been 800 miles since I did the service, and the oil level is exactly where I filled it. I highly recommend BG EPR! I think it cleaned out my stuck piston rings.
