As you can see from the picture of my Sacramento Kings Custom Build Jazz Bass, the finished product came out pretty good. The finish on the body as applied was really good, didn’t need much prep work to take the first coat of paint. I did put 6 coats on this and then a final epoxy finish. I will say that the bridge pickup route is NOT for Sized a pickup made for a US made fender jazz which is slightly different to the neck pickup, so be warned when buying your pickups. However with the use of a Dremel sanding attachment I was able to make the necessary adjustments. The neck and controls fit very easily in the routes spaces provided. The neck I bought fit perfectly in the routed space. Yes, the weight is a bit heavy compared with commercial basses, but as I tend to build bases for show rather than to play I’m not too worried. All in all, if you’re starting out building jazz bass guitars or just wanna have a go and see what it turns out like, then this is a good body to start with. I also used this suppliers Precision Body on another build... that was equally as good and the pickups and controls fit perfectly.

I suppose you get what you pay for.The goods:The body itself is OK.It's very close to a fender jazz shape. The wood feels solid, and is sanded very smooth. The bads:It is very heavy compared to my MIM. The body weighs more than my entire MIM loaded bass. The body contours are extremely minimal, and will need to be shaped more (perhaps I can shave some weight!).The biggest problem with the body is that the bridge pickup route is incorrect and will not fit a Jazz pickup (it is too small, and the screw holes are too close together). I tried to see if the neck pickup would fit in the bridge location and it will not. I am considering filling it, and re-routing so it looks better. This isn't a huge deal as far as operation goes, but aesthetics will be not good. If I fill, the paint will cover the work, so I can cover that part. Just be warned that this body will need work before you can use it.I gave it 2 stars because it's better than starting from scratch. just barely, but it is. I am waiting for my neck to arrive. I will update the review once I try out the neck pocket.
