I've had the 1153 model for a couple years now, only used it a dozen times in part because it is only actually ON about 10% of the time so does a poor job of heating the 45 gallon steel Biodiesel tank its attached to. This was verified using a Fluke meter. Reading the comments from others it looks like many of these units fail due to over heating and melting, my experience has been just the opposite, very little heat.

Je m'en sert pour réchauffer l'huile du carter de mon vieux tracteur des années 80, après quelques heures l'huile est chaude et démarre à merveille, je recommande !

I ordered this to install on my car for the winter because the title clearly states that it’s “for Car Truck Tractor”. The cord isn’t long enough to make it out on my engine bay so to plug it in I have to reach down into my engine and try to find it. I keep my car plugged in overnight because the cold Canadian winters are hard on my European car. The car is still having issues starting and it’s only the first week of November.Spend the extra $50 and buy the Canadian polar pad

There's no dataplate on the heater, and zero info in/on the packaging to tell you the heater power. From my measurements, it's only 200 watts, so trying to heat an engine with this is about as effective as blowing at it with your breath. The more alarming thing about NO dataplate, is no CSA or UL certification, so I would not ever have my eyes off this thing when using it, as it's just a ticking time bomb to burn down everything you own.
