About this item

  • For Stronger Joints, Bones and Teeth: Dogs may develop joint and skeletal problems if they don’t have the right amount of calcium and phosphorus in their diet. Powder-form calcium sources like coral, seaweed and eggshell are good, but they have low phosphorus content. Better Bones has the perfect 2:1 ratio of calcium to phosphorus, along with essential bone nutrients like magnesium, zinc, vitamin D, bone growth factors, collagen and amino acids.
  • Suited for Dogs of All Growth Stages: Many dogs struggle to eat whole bones. Better Bones is an excellent calcium powder for dogs suitable for seniors and puppies on a homemade diet. You don't need to worry about choking or splintering, and you don't need to add unnatural calcium to cooked foods. Best of all, it only takes a few seconds to mix the right amount of our air-dried bone powder into your pet's home-prepared meals.
  • Made from Australian Cattle: Better Bones comes out on top because it’s made from grass-fed, free-range, BSE-free bones. The bones are air-dried without acids, chemicals and bleaches, unlike commonly high-heat treated bone meals. This gentle drying method enables the naturally occurring proteins, minerals and growth factors found in bone to stay intact–making Better Bones a highly bioavailable source of calcium.
  • Why Choose Four Leaf Rover for Your Pet: Unlike most puppy, adult, and senior dog supplements with hidden ingredients, ours are made from whole foods. We believe that every pet should enjoy fresh, organic products with absolutely no fillers, additives or ingredients from questionable sources.
  • Satisfaction Guaranteed: If you're not thrilled with the premium quality of Four Leaf Rover Better Bones, we'll refund your purchase. No hassles. No questions. Guaranteed.

We no longer feed our Golden Lab expensive, dry kibbles. She gets home prepared meals of meat and no-salt raw/cooked vegetables. It is easy to use and assures us that she is receiving a reliable source of calcium and essential minerals. Highly recommend.

We recently adopted a Cane Courso. She went through a growth stage and this helped her tremendously. She also appeared to enjoy the taste

After deciding to prepare raw meals for my dog at home due to quality control issues from premade raw, I struggled with finding the right bone that was effective. My dog’s poops (slight diarrhea) struggled while using only meaty bones, chicken feet and egg shell which made me nervous I was doing something wrong and needed to fix it fast. I’m really glad to have found this, it worth the money to me to ensure my dog has healthy bowel movements and is getting the right amount she needs. Will definitely repurchase.I had no issues with the seal and my dog seems to like the taste. Very effective for my meal needs.

I make homemade food for my dogs. I use this as the calcium source for meals that don't contain ground bone. This is absolutely the best and cleanest bone meal I have been able to find. I have used Kal and now brands which are better than nothing but are not from grass fed cattle and are a mixed with calcium carbonate and also contain heavy metals. Yes this is expensive for the small amount especially for large dogs. The one thing I don't understand is their recommended amounts. I have a 30 lb dog and a 60 lb dog and I have researched many times how much calcium per day they need. According to the internet and several books I have it is around 700 mg and 1400mg or something like that. Also I am not accounting for the calcium in the food but figure a little extra is probably fine especially since it's not synthetic. This has 750mg of calcium per tsp. I add 1/2 tsp per meal for 30lb dog and 1 tsp per meal for 60 lb dog. Two meals a day. If I feed a raw meal with chicken necks or some other edible bone I don't add to that meal. So sometimes I only use this once a day. Their serving size doubles the daily amount of calcium they are apparently supposed to have so I am confused on that and would appreciate some clarity. It's not safe to recommended so much as it could harm your dog and it also makes it not practical for most people to use. My dogs are 2 and 3yrs... so not puppies. Puppies do need more calcium than adult dogs. I called the company and they said that this was the dosage the vet recommended, seems to be all over the place. I certainly don't want to be underdosing my dogs... I wish I could get an explanation on this... still love this company and their products.

The seal was not properly sealed. Some spill of powder. Said to give 2 tsp per pound of food. I give mine 5 oz in the am and 5 oz pm. I started with 1/2 t to play it safe yesterday. This morning 3 am, stomach issues. Didn’t think this was too much so used 1/4 t this morning. This evening she is in stomach discomfort and slight diarrhea. Unfortunately not refundable, which is horrible customer service.Purchased because their site said New Zealand bones, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND using this product or company.

My dog's doctor recommended it to me over a year ago and my dog, who has a sensitive stomach, tolerated it very well. I don't give him the full dose because his stools are very hard and form small balls, exactly when I gave him raw bones.
