Bringing innovation into one of the most ancient instruments, Betor MRI Safe Ceramic Scissor's blades are made out of Yttria-stabilized Zirconia (YSZ), very hard and tough ceramic. Zirconia is 8.5 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, compared to 4.5 for normal steel and 7.5 to 8 for hardened steel and 10 for diamond. Attached to plastic handles, the Betor Ceramic Scissors, are non-magnetic, pose no known hazards in all MR imaging environments. They are safe for the patient undergoing an MR procedure or an individual in the MR environment, with special reference to the highest static magnetic field strength that was used for the MR safety test.

I needed ceramic scissors to cut Dental laser wire.. it works great but would've liked them to be smaller.They come in a really nice secure box.

I'm not particularly eager to write bad reviews, but they should last a lifetime when you pay $50.00 bucks. I purchased these scissors three months ago and used them three-time, and today they broke in half; the plastic screw isn't durable.

The only positive remark about these scissors I can find is that they are MRI compatible. They broke the 2nd time I used them!

The scissors are non-magnetic and safe in 3-Tesla MRI scanner. The blades are so sharp that I can use them to cut the disposable plastic tubings and mouthpiece.
