Don't buy this. The metal edges on the bias tape makers were not polished. They snag fabric and they're going to slice your fingers if you're not careful. They're made of a lighter gauge metal, and they have sharp, unfinished edges. The notches they use to tell them where to cut the metal are still there too. I'm throwing these out. I don't need to be sliced up.The pins are going to be thrown out too. They are different lengths. They're bendy. Some come pre-bent and twisted. And they don't have points. Some have dull points. Some are flat on one side like a chisel. Others are rounded. They "sort of" of work on loose jersey type fabric. But I wouldn't try to force these pins through fabric I care about. Garbage. My camera isn't good enough to show the shiny rough edges on the bias tape makers. But I was able to get photos of hte pins.Photo - blue/white/white(with tape) - all Bequilter pins - different sizes, bends, wonky pointsPhoto - pink bequilter pin with a rough end and no point - shown with a normal "flower" pin from a different manufacturer - and a normal yellow head pin from a different manufacturer.

This set of bias tape makers should cover just about all of the bias tape needs for any quilter. There are two styles of bias tape makers: the metal bias folders and the green templates.I'd seen products similar to the green templates at a quilt show, and hadn't purchased them at that time due to lack of funds. Since these were available in a complete set, I felt it was a good purchase. The set does not come with instructions for using the bias tape makers (how wide do you cut the material for each different size template?), but the information for the fabric cutting sizes is available on the internet as results from a quick search. The metal bias tape makers are the more traditional style of bias tape maker that most would be familiar with, but the flat templates also work quite well for helping to consistently fold bias tape to a particular width.
