I brought this to put up a new clothes line and it was very hard to get the new rope line through. Also, it didn't hold the tension. Save your money.

You have to be careful you do not lose the ball bearings when pulling the middle to allow you feed in the line to grip the washing line. however it is such a simple design and very effective in tentioning up the line.

I haven’t used this in situation yet. But testing it with a spare bit of cloths-line all indications point to it functioning perfectly. I fed the line through and it holds, no amount of pulling moved it and on the other side with the stopper you can pull it through to tighten the line. So it’s like a one way system and just pull the stopper up to remove the line completely.
