This bookbinding press is a very simple to use – there isn't much too it. It's very effective, all you have to do is to carefully place your pages between the press bars, tighten it down, and apply glue to the edge. The parts of the press are good quality: the wing nuts tighten easily, and the wooden bars are sanded very smooth. I especially like that the kit is compact & doesn't take much room to store.

I ordered this little press for assistance when making my miniature 1/12th scale books. Not the purpose it was made for, but still books! This press is perfect for this because it will press my whole book at once and several at a time. The strips of wood are not too wide, making it easy for me to center the books and get an even press. I have a lot of book making in my future for the library of my dollhouse and this will make the job so much easier. My little book that I tested it on came out beautifully pressed and even.With life-sized book making, I love the fact that the screws they provided are long. This makes the press very adjustable for pressing books up to about 3" thick or for pressing a few thinner ones at the same time. The wood is sanded very smooth so that nothing mars the surface of your book and the wing nuts on the screws tighten and loosen easily to make it easy to use. It comes wrapped in a bubble-wrap envelope to prevent damage to the wood. My daughter does life-sized book binding as a hobby and I can see her wanting to borrow this!

One of the screws keeps twisting while trying to tighten.Works fine. Would work better if they embedded the screws into the wood in a way that would allow tightening without having to fight with the screw.Does the job.
