The length of the candle wick is very important. If the wax wick is too long, it will not absorb the wax at the bottom. If the wax wick is too short, the flame will be too small or unable to burn because the wax oil covers the wax wick. If won't stay lit, try to trim shorter.

While the stand makes these super easy to use in candle making, I was very underwhelmed when I went to light the first one. So hard to get it to stay lit. Maybe there is some instruction I missed. I have purchased crackling wick candles and loved them. This did not give the crackling effect I was used to. I honestly don’t hear a thing. Still cute and still technically works after you spend several minutes lighting and re lighting to get that little flame to stay going.

These wicks will not light or burn. Absolutely awful. Have an entire candle I cannot burn because these wicks suck.

They look great and are easy to use with the included clips. My only criticism is when I've used a single stick, I've been mildly disappointed in the level of flame produced. Reading online, many have said that if you stuff two sticks into the clip, it improves the flame size, and I've also found that to be the case. It lowers the value a bit, since you use your stock twice as fast, but overall I've been happy with these.

I had spent so much time researching what wick to use with my beeswax candles in a medium mason jar and I was so overwhelmed with all of the choices out there. But this one works beautifully! It is in the jar with the 3" mouth and it is perfect. I did dip the wick in the melted beeswax twice before I actually poured the wax, but I didn't let it soak in any other oil or anything like that. It makes a beautiful light and a lovely crackling sound. I am in love

First of all, the reviews with candles full of flower petals, herbs, spices, etc saying that the wicks don’t burn right are because candles are not meant to have solids in them. They clog the wick and keep it from burning properly. Use those items in soap, not candles. #2- one wick = 1-2 inches of diameter of candle wax pool. You put a single wood wick in a 3” candle you will get a 2” pool of wax down the center and the sides will not melt. Candle science 101. You need to size your wicks for your container size and shape. The thickness of these wicks makes doubling them in each clip easy yet I prefer to space them in the candle in a triangle on anything over 3 1/2 inches. Keep them trimmed to 1/4” and you will be good to go. Soaking them in wax does help with the crackle. You must use candle wax with candle coloring and candle fragrance oil. Essential oils, perfume, crayons, old pillar and taper candles, free standing candles etc all burn differently and will effect how and if your candle stays lit and burns properly. It astounds me that someone will take 6 old candle remnants and add two crayons for color, sprinkle in some dried flowers and then pour it into a 4 inch jar with one wick and then blame the wick for not burning properly! If making candles was that easy then the good ones wouldn’t be $30! There is a lot of research and trial and error to it! Don’t knock the products you use when you are the one using them incorrectly!!! If you want to make candles and don’t want to research the correct way to do it, buy a kit.

If you want a higher quality wick that will be perfect in such a large quantity... Spend more. If you're looking for a cheap wick that gets the job done, this one is great. I've used both a single and a double and honestly haven't had any issues. Two does definitely make a larger flame. 100%.I have to light it about 2 or 3 times, in the beginning, to get it going. Not an issue for me. I don't prime mine, either so they're very easy to use. For $10 I'm not sure why this isn't a minimum of 4.5 stars. Seriously, what did you expect?? Ignore the complainers. These are great.
