Product Description

bike bell

There is so much hustle and bustle in the big cities in particular that as a cyclist you have to be particularly careful and drive with foresight. It is a little safer in traffic when you have a bell on your handlebars. Wrestling as loud as possible attracts inattentive road users, who will hopefully then leave the bike path in good time.

Works well! Very loud and not unpleasant! Makes a satisfying ting and gets people out of the way due to being a familiar noise on trails.

bike bell

clear and loud ding

Very easy to install. small physical footprint allows placement close to shift levers. Can be mounted on either side and either horizontally or vertically on handlebars. Loud and clear ding. Does not rattle or "ding" from bumps while riding. I have mine set up to ring with left thumb. I can "ding" it probably 2 or 3 times a second.

After buying a much cheaper bell, this one is really nice. The sound rings out clearly with a well-sustained pretty tone

This is a really great quality bell. It is all made of metal with not breakable plastic parts. It has a loud, clear ring and the sound does reverberate after it rings.

I ride in an extremely bike-friendly city almost daily on commutes over a dozen miles. I wanted a crisp, clear-sounding, but low-profile bell with a pleasant sound that would hold up to our intense weather. I have tried half a dozen bells and they were all too jarring in sound, very large, or fell apart quickly. I’ve had this bell for a year now and it has not let me down. You can make a gentle, quiet “ting” or flick the hammer harder and get a more forceful but still sing-songy “ding.” Both pitches are pleasant sounds and not at all startling for walkers who are unaware I’m coming up behind them. This is the best bike bell I’ve ever had. I deducted a star for two reasons: 1) I ordered more of these bells and they all have a different (but still pleasant) pitch so there is some inconsistency in manufacturing materials; and 2) none of the bells came with instructions for installing. If you’re familiar with bicycle gear it’s not a big deal but I did have to use some extra rubber padding for it to fit my standard-diameter handlebars that did not come in the package. Further, some instructions for those less-familiar with this type of install would be a nice addition.

I recently purchased a Specialized Diverge bike and shopped on Amazon for a few essentials including a bike bell. I purchased the Pioneeryao Bell based on the recommendation from a good friend and cycling partner. Yes, this bell is a cheaper copy of the SpurCycle Bell.I've used this bell on my bike for about 2-months with no problems. A chunk of my typical ride includes a very busy municipal trail and I use this bell a dozen or more times a ride to alert other riders and pedestrians of my presence. The bell is both loud and really easy to use. The thumb strike is within easy reach on my handlebars and I've had zero problems with the bell since installing it.The actual installation process is a bit of a chore and probably took 10-minutes. The Pioneeryao Bell comes with a small piece of rubber or silicone that I used to keep the bell from moving on my bars. A small metal strip curls around part of the bars and through mount points on the bell to keep it mounted. Guiding the metal part around my bars while holding the small silicone strip in place was the chore in the installation process but not overly terrible.I'm a fan and I'd order this bell again. Recommended!

It does what it is supposed to do: it sits on your bike until you need to at least attempt to alert the hapless pedestrian on the trail ahead of you that you need to pass. It goes like this: You ride down the trail. Ahead of you, you see walkers, runners, kayakers porting their kayaks to the water, and the occasional BMW that mindlessly followed the GPS instructions and wandered onto the trail. You ding your bell twice and enjoy the sweet classic bike bell music. You ding it again and shout "On your left!" You ding it some more, shout louder, and start cussing out every manufacturer of headphones ever. You then gently, slowly, as far to the left as possible, pass the pedestrian and brace yourself for the inevitable onslaught of four-letter-words accompanied by a lecture about how you are riding too fast on the trail and tearing up the landscape. You might be chased by a dog on a retractible leash. At least you and your lovely bell tried.Looks nice on my Rivendell. The band that attaches this bell to the bike is flexible, and comes in two different lengths, so no worries about handlebar diameter or needing to replace headset spacers with exotic bell mounting options. I wrapped my stem with electrical tape so it wouldn't scratch, but it looks like they now include a rubber shim. No rust after six months and maybe 3 or 4 rain showers. I personally can't tell the difference between this bell and the expensive model that it knocks off. I would definitely buy this bell again.

I was in a bike shop and they had a bell JUST like this for $55. Maybe it was a little different. Sound on both was great. Assembly was the same. Very happy I bought this one and saved my $$ for other needs.Let me add after a week of using this bell:While the bell works great, the walkers on the trail are clearly defective because they a) don't know what the bell means and stop mid trail and look around for the alien space ship they think is making the noise, or b) panic and lunge madly into the left lane of the path where I'm supposed to pass them, but then have to swerve into the right lane to avoid flattening the children of the local walkers. So, the bell rings clearly and loudly with good sustain. But the walkers... well... they need some work.

This is perfect for my needs. I ride on sidewalks and paved trails mostly, and this is exactly what I was looking for. First of all, it is very small (the dome is about 1" diameter and about 1" tall) so it doesn't get in the way of a few other things that I have on my handle bars.Second of all, it is loud enough to be heard without startling people. A couple of dings as I approach is all it takes to get people to look around and see me. It even works with people wearing headphones.Installation only took a couple of minutes - there is a pictogram included which shows how it mounts.I've used this for a few weeks now and it is pretty solid. I'm very happy with it.
