Power Handling Capacity
The VP1800S subwoofer is engineered to handle the demands of professional gigs, from small clubs to large stages. With its 1,600-Watts power handling capability, the VP1800S cranks out massive amounts of aggressive bottom-end, making it the ideal way to add tremendous punch to your current sound system.
Massive Bass
In order to produce tight, deep bass, a subwoofer has to move lots of air. EUROLIVE loudspeakers accomplish this by using powerful, long-excursion LF (Low Frequency) drivers that are handmade in our own factory. While some companies are content to use "off-the-shelf" drivers, we custom-design each LF driver to perfectly match its enclosure and application. The VP1800S features a powerful 18" long-excursion LF driver in a tuned enclosure, providing rich, tight bass all the way down to 40 Hz. That's extraordinarily deep bass that will shake the house right down to its foundation.
Let's Get Technical
The VP1800S is capable of extremely high sound pressure levels (100 dB half space 1 W @ 1 m) and provides a 40 to 200 Hz frequency range. A standard 35-mm (1.375") pole socket is provided for pole-mounting loudspeakers atop the VP1800S. The internal Low-pass filter (LPF) is fixed at 150 Hz. Both 1/4" and professional-style twist-lock connectors are provided.

Works exactly as expected for the intended purpose as a stage monitor and for rehearsal. Frequency response is relatively flat and tone is whatever you get from your equalizer above 60 Hz. Still, If you need anything below about 60 Hz you better look at some other, much larger, heavier, and bulky specialized sub-woofers designed to reproduce powerful low frequencies, not this one. No tone correction can get you sound below the limits of the cabinet, just higher harmonics that some may misinterpret for the real low-frequency sound without accounting for the actual distortion. It arrived in somewhat tiny packaging but still was just fine, perhaps due to the warning "fragile signs.

I got a pair of these from zZounds. I hook these speakers to a 1500 watt amp and let me tell you, the sound is awesome, loud, crisp and clear and I only have it not even near half way up and you don't even need a subwoofer, they got plenty of bass. I am afraid to turn it up any louder, I may not have a roof nor windows left in my house. The bass is long throw, the further you are from the speakers the louder the thump and I mean kick ass bumping humping thumping bass. I am thinking about getting another pair. For those that rate these speakers low, they probably have low wattage amp, get a high wattage amp and these speakers will kick ass without a subwoofer. They also look great and built with quality. These speakers are made for big indoor and outdoor gigs but I am using these speakers for home stereo and TV surround sound, call me crazy, but they sound awesome!

These are good speakers for the price, although to be honest they don't have a lot of bottom for a 15" speaker, and the mids tend to saturate a bit if you push them hard. For a 600w speaker I expected to be able to really crank these babies, but they do have their limitations. But again, for the price, these are still pretty solid speakers, and I am using them for small gigs and they're working out fine. I wouldn't try to push much bass through them, and if you want something with some real "oomph" then you probably need to spend a little more money.

ok why 5 stars, for under 200 quid you cant go wrong, set these speakers up on a simple set up to start i;e pre power amp at first a little bass shy , played around by adding a electronic crossover they sounded sweet, replaced electronic crossover with a quality graphic equaliser wow awesome sound rich mid band whilst remaining clear, great tight bass with warmth, surprising good top end,maybe they are dependent on what type of kit you use, personally im using them as house speakers because there so versatile , they sound good at lower volumes and trust me no sub required when set up correctly i.e decent amp to drive them.

I BOUGHT TWO OF THESE SPEAKERS AND AM PLEASED WITH THE SOUND. I HAD TO PURCHASE TWO NEUTRIK SPEAKON LEADS BUT IT WAS WORTH IT. A DISAPPOINTMENT WAS THAT I HAD NOT NOTICED WHEN DELIVERED THAT ONE OF THE BOXES HAD A RIP IN IT AS THE MAN LIFTED THEM IN FOR ME AND THEY WERE VERY HEAVY SO I DIDN'T EXAMINE THEM CLOSELY STRAIGHT AWAY. THERE IS A BIG DENTED CHIP IN THE WOOD AT THE TOP OF THE SPEAKER BUT TOO LATE TO SEND IT BACK. THIS DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE AFFECTED THE SOUND THOUGH SO I WILL HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT.

finally it arrived and i have been using it at home. The design is good. The sound quality is extremely good and clear. only downside is the bass but still okay. The price £80 (After VAT refund it's £67) is almost hard to beat.
