The EP2000 and EP4000 represent everything musicians love about Behringer's popular EP1500/EP2500--excellent sound quality, road-worthy toughness and reliability, low-noise operation and incredible power. With 2,000 and 4,000-Watts respectively, the EP2000 and EP4000 amplifiers are perfect for medium-sized club gigs, mobile PA systems, church services or public spaces.

Excellent sound quality, road-worthy toughness and reliability, low-noise operation and incredible power.

Professional speaker connectors and "touch-proof" binding posts support most speaker wiring systems.

XLR and 1/4" TRS input connectors for compatibility with any source.

Everything You Need, Nothing You Don't
The über-simple front panel controls of these amps give you all of your sound's vital signs at a glance. After flipping the MAIN switch, the POWER LED will light when the amp is ready for action. Both channels have independent gain dials as well as clip LEDs that indicate when the signal is distorted and you need to reduce the gain. There are also SIGNAL LEDs that light up when a signal is present at the input.

Panel Discussion
A panel of switches found on the back panel offers an array of cool options to apply to both channels of the EP2000 and EP4000. The Clip Limiter lets you get even more out of the amplifier without overdriving either it or your speaker system. Built-in circuitry automatically senses when the EP2000 or EP4000 is being overdriven into "clipping" and then momentarily reduces the input level to avoid clipping distortion. This all happens in a few thousandths of a second, so it's an inaudible way of avoiding audible clipping distortion. Of course, you can turn the Limiter off if you're feeling lucky.

Ultra-low frequency sounds (infrasonics) are caused by rickety stage vibrations, mic thumps and wind noise. While technically inaudible, they can cause a huge drain on amp power, potential damage to your speakers and a sludgy sound in the audible bass ranges. Both EP models feature a defeatable Low Cut Filter that chops off unwanted frequencies below 50Hz or 30Hz (depending on your PA system's capabilities).

The same panel contains the switches that allow you to put these amps to work in either stereo or bridge (mono) mode. Both the EP2000 and EP4000 can be linked to additional power amps by switching into parallel mode.

These Amps Have Guts
There's plenty of awesome features on the outside of the EP2000 and EP4000, but there's also a team of cool components on the inside helping it work its magic. They come loaded with famously reliable Toshiba/Fairchild power transistors as well as a high-current toroidal transformer for ultra-high transient response and further reliability. Independent DC and thermal overload protection on each channel automatically protects the amplifier and speakers from any show-stopping meltdowns. There's no need for fuses, giving you one fewer potential mid-gig headache.

The EP2000 and EP4000 have both XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs. Even the outputs are totally flexible, consisting of Speakon-compatible outputs and five-way binding posts. Whether you're dealing with bare wire or boutique audiophile cabling, the EP2000 and EP4000 are right at home.

The exhaust fan, visible on the back panel, is the final stage of an internal front-to-back cooling system that keeps these amps working in the mild temperatures they love, even through periods of extended use. Finally, an impact-resistant, all-steel 2U rackmount chassis helps these workhorses stand up to all the rigors of the road.

Accelerated Transient Response Delivers the Knock-Out Punch
It takes huge pulses of energy (current and voltage) to propel a woofer cone out fast enough to match a bass beat. That's called Transient Response and it's the holy grail of amp designers. By carefully selecting transistors with extremely highslew rates and optimizing other proprietary parts of our circuitry, our amps are able to react instantly to even the most demanding electronic bass impulses. If the woofers in your PA system can keep up, your audience will hear a tighter, crisper, more natural sound.

The Legend Powers On
If you read the reviews of the EP2000 and EP4000's older brothers, the EP1500 and EP2500, and it's clear that those amps are renowned not only for their performance and durability, but also their astoundingly low price tags. The EP2000 and EP4000 extend that legacy to the next level.

Der Verstärker hat einen sehr guten klaren Klang und super Leistung. Darüber hinaus hat er auch viele Einstellmöglichkeiten was den Frequenz Bereich betrifft. ( Dipschalter auf der Rückseite)

I like that it is as heavy duty as the QSC 2450 amps we have been using.Been using it to push two dual JBL 18" subs for a couple of months now. Sounds good. Punches hard!

I have a total of 3 amps, 3 sets of speakers depending on the environment I am inTHIS AMP PACKS THE MOST PUNCH and pushes my 1000watt 8ohm speakers wellCrisp clear sound! Pause the music and no hum! nothing worse than thatWill say, when choosing an EQ don't cheap out! Same with amps. I replaced an older amp due to the noise it produced.this amp has some weight to it, but by far is my fav in my current line up, and choose it over the last 4 i have used in the past! should have done it sooner

This unit works well and does what it needs to do. It powers speakers with a loud clean signal. The unit itself is fairly heavy and it has fans in it that run on the loud side even when you aren't even pushing it. It eats up electricity like a mofo, so not for the eco conscious. The lights dim for a fraction of a second when you throw the switch on. If any of these things are negatives for you, find something else. If you need something built like a tank to push a sub or live venue speakers, I recommend it. I'm keeping mine, but because of how loud the fan can get I'm going to transition it to live use only eventually.

This amp was recommended to me by a friend who is affiliated with a very high end audio company. He knew I didn't want to spend 5K on their amplifiers; he said this would be plenty powerful for what i need. I was looking to drop $800 on a new Emotiva amplifier before hearing of this amp.Now I have two Polk RTI12s that have needed "real" power for a couple of years. My high end Pioneer receiver, even when bi-amped, could never power the Polks properly to make the three 7 inch woofers hit hard. I've had a Polk subwoofer doing most of the low end duty because the RTI12s weren't being powered properly. When I first connected this amp to my system, I disabled the subwoofer because I wanted to hear the RTI12s all by themselves now that they have power. This amp has brought these speakers to life! I no longer use a subwoofer when listening to music; it's that powerful. I read somewhere that this amp can pull up to 13 amps. My power center has only showed a maximum of 4 amps at the loudest volume I've played (and this was LOUD!). I can't even imagine how loud this could push my Polks (I don't think the neighbors would appreciate it either!). No distortion whatsoever was noticed at the high volumes I have played. One complaint: the cooling fan. You can hear it at low volumes and it's annoying. But it's an easy fix. I spent another $20 for a super quiet fan and installed it in about 10 minutes. Search "EP4000 fan mod" or similar on Google. It's an 80mmx80mmx25mm 24 volt fan (NOT the 12v computer fan which is WAY more common for this size). I went with a 12db fan: http://www.onlinecomponents.com/ebm-papst-8414ngl.html?p=12102075. I didn't deduct a star for it because at this price this amp is an absolute steal. Great buy!

I've been using three of these amps and one of the 2500 smaller series and have never had a problem. They are pushing 4 12" JBLSRX monitors, 2 18" Yamaha Subs and 2 15" Yorkville Mains (Ok the Yorkvilles need to be replaced cause they're very old) The sound is clear and I have lots of head room. I crank it to over 105dbs and crystal clear. Some may scoff at the fact of these so called budget amps, but I will tell anyone looking for a powerful, clean and dependable amp to get these. I have been quoted in the thousands of dollars for the Crown, QSC and the Label high dollar brands, but truth is I have no need, cause these amp have impressed me well. Save your money, find a good local store if you like, buy these and try them out. If you don't like them, return them before the return policy expires, but I doubt you will.

For the cost this is a great amplifier. I replaced a Peavy 2000 Watt with it. The new Peavys are made in China and have a one peice board but this has a separate power supply, preamp, and 2 amplifier boards(one for each channel). This makes it much easier to repair if needed. It is noisy because the fan cooling runs all the time, but that could be modified if you needed it for a home theater setup. I was using it to run the PA/Music system for a College stadium. I would say the real power is closer to 2000 watts.

The facility I have my sound system in has very noisy in coming power (A/C) and requires good quality equipment to avoid 60 cycle humming. The first set of amps (not this brand) I tried hummed so loud that I had to return them. The Behringer EP/4000 is a beast (almost 40 pounds) and works great. I am driving 18 inch Behringer subs, no problem getting past 120 Db. I liked this one so much I have another on order. This new amp will drive the Behringer mains that are just waiting for more power. I would highly recommend this product.
