As others have mentioned, button is too long and when fully threaded in, makes it so you cannot shift into reverse. Look at the stock switch/other brands and notice the button on this unit is quite a bit longer. Don’t buy expecting it to fit.

Hindsight is 2020 as they say. Wish I had read these reviews before I installed this switch. It does not fit my 88 Samurai as the description from Amazon says. The plugs don’t fit. Not a big deal. I just cut and soldered my original plug to this switch. Screwed it in and it worked fine. For a while. Unfortunately, my reverse gear stopped working shortly after I installed this switch. Worse, I didn’t make the connection that my transmission problems were because of this switch. I pulled my transmission and tore it apart thinking something had broke somewhere. No. It was this damn switch. It’s too long and it will jam your reverse gear. Don’t buy it

Works fine but I had to cut the wires and solder the old plug on so it would attach!

My backup lights work again! Perfect fit for Suzuki samurai. If I'm not mistaken this same switch will replace the 4x4 indicator on the transfer case also. One word of caution: don't overtighten into the transmission. It won't go in to reverse if so. Just snug is plenty. Quality part!

Works perfect for a 4WD light switch on a 1987 Suzuki Samurai. You have to clip off the connector and use the original connector but it's worked great for better than 6 months.
