I purchased this item less than a year ago and according to the tech reps at BD diesel the compressor for the exhaust brake has prematurely failed. I talked and emailed their customer service representatives for what seemed to be an unreasonable amount of time and despite presenting them with sound logic, they have an entire series of arbitrary and capricious "guidelines"/ preconditions which must be met for them to honor their warranty. If you are a consumer and purchase a brand new exhaust brake for a 2006 Dodge Ram in good faith, don't expect them to stand behind their warranty.

I am very glad to have this exhaust brake in use on my truck. I made my first trip pulling a 32 foot travel trailer this week and found that it really does cut the stopping distance a lot and adds a good boost of confidence in heavy traffic situations. I have not really used it in big hills or the mountains yet but I am confident that it will be a great help there also. I am using it all the time even when not towing trailers. I was really impressed by the quality of all the parts and especially the wiring harness and components. The installation instructions are especially helpful and accurate.
