It claims to be so much better than a stock CDI, but on my bike (racing bike) it's awful,it will run, but the $8 CDI I had to start with, runs MUCH better, however, I'm not stupid and know that EVERY bike is different,so I'm gonna try it on a few others, will update with results. But don't expect it to be some big power gain, because it really isn't

Solid strong and consistent spark. Looks better than stock cdi as well. Smoother across rev range. Low end torque and start up is better

If you have and ride a motorized bike, you should definitely buy it. It helps with getting started makes bike ride smoother and gives you better fuel mileage

All the YouTube videos say it's great. So I bought one when I got a new motor. It was pretty bad it didn't work. I wound up sending it back. I'd like to try it again but I'm not sure if it'll work.

I was using a so-called hi performance CDI and noted occasional misfire, hard vibration at higher RPM.This module changed the character of my 48cc, especially at lower RPM. The entire range is quieter, only 4-stroking I hear is backing off throttle. Under load it HUMS.Clearly alters timing at high RPM, that's worth it in itself. No more hamming piston and bearings.Getting another for another project, I won't ever run one of those engine-killing stock CDI again.I almost didn't buy from all the crappy reviews. Did I get lucky?Or did I do it right?Hmmmm....

I was hesitant to buy this, as there are no reviews (written or otherwise) and NO Youtube reviews (surprisingly). My ONLY "complaint" (more of a "disclaimer") is that this CDI's plug cap DOES NOT fit/snap onto a spark plug cap/"nipple", such as my Champion E3.10 spark plug. That being said, today, after over a week's worth (and a couple hundred miles' worth) of "breaking in" my recently built motorized bicycle (48cc Grubee engine on a Huffy Cranbrook) with the stock CDI (and stock spark plug or Champion E3.10), I just installed this BBR Tuning Stage I CDI (using the stock spark plug with nipple unscrewed), and IMMEDIATELY I noticed an improvement in power. I rode about 20 miles during the midnight hours tonight giving it a test run. I noticed MUCH BETTER power and acceleration from a "slow start" than previously (that is, popping the clutch and giving it throttle at about 4-7MPH, whereas before with the stock CDI, I would need about to already be going about 7-10MPH before popping the clutch and giving throttle in order to not bog the engine). So, I definitely notice more power and acceleration at lower RPMs (which, I'm sure, can be attributed to the stronger spark igniting more fuel). As for "higher" RPMs (keep in mind, the legal top speed in Illinois for a motorized bicycle is 20MPH, so by "higher RPMs" I mean while going about 17-20MPH), I definitely notice much less engine shaking. (Long story short, the Grubee engine stock CDIs have too advanced timing, essentially sparking while the piston is still going "up", and this causes a lot of engine shaking because the advanced timing, and therefore premature combustion, is "fighting" against the upward movement of the piston, in a nutshell.) I was also hesitant to buy this because I'd read NUMEROUS complaints (on various forums etc) about OTHER "performance CDIs" having even less performance than stock CDIs. On the other hand, my buddy who formerly raced 2 stroke dirt bikes said that BBR Tuning is a really good company. So, all in all, I'm very pleased already that I bought this, because as I said, the acceleration and power at low RPMs is definitely noticeable, as is the reduced engine shaking at higher RPMs. Now, with the increased spark (and therefore increased combustion), I do notice that the engine head is slightly hotter than it previously was (but that's not a complaint about this CDI -- rather just a matter of physics due to increased performance.) That being said, I do find that this BBR Tuning Stage I CDI and my stock spark plug works much better than the stock CDI and a better spark plug. Just keep in mind that, with this CDI, you will need a spark plug with removable nipple in order to make it "snap" into place.
