I purchased not one but two of these BBK throttle bodies one straight from BBK performance and the other from Amazon. Both had the same problem. The throttle pedal is so hard to press down with this installed that the throttle cable popped off trying to pull out into traffic. It could have gotten me killed. Tried contacting BBK about this and they never responded. I would NOT recommend this product. As far as the HP gains it’s supposed to give I couldn’t tell any. Another down side is I couldn’t use my cruise control because the cruise control servo wasn’t strong enough to pull the throttle open on its own. You will also need to modify the lower coolant hose that attaches to the throttle body as the angle of the pipe is wrong so you’ll need a longer coolant hose. Do not waste your money on this.

As mentioned on the IAC ports about the knife edge, the edges were taken down by a rough cut with a rotary file from the looks of it! Now this only controls the idle circuit to my understanding and see no issue but it bothers me seeing the lack of finish work leaving it with a rough finish! I noticed tons of complaints about stiff idle spring and see no issue and will be ok with a stiffer gas pedal as it should somewhat wear as it is wears in. The coolant hose ports are absolutely useless for me to use as the bottom one is clocked right at the back of my alternator, for 400$ I shouldn't be eliminating features on a brand new part as it's rendered useless and poor clocking of coolant ports! To my understanding of the coolant in the throttle-body is for cold weather applications and is not needed in PNW imo but I could very well be wrong!

A lil work to get on. But worth the wait. The response is a lil better. Works great with the set up I have on my bronco.

A lot of problems with this thing:1. The top radiator hose port leaked right out of the box.2. The throttle spring broke after 33 days of use.3. The spring is way too tight. You have to really depress the gas pedal to get going.4. Poor customer service: BBK FINALLY got in touch with me 3 days after Amazon made my situation right and returned the TB. Since the TB spring broke just after a little over a month (33 days) of use, I was past the 30 day return. I contacted BBK and they never got back to me so I decided to contact Amazon and they made it right by giving me a one time return thats over 30 days. When BBK got back to me, I had already returned and received my money back.5. I installed this a little while after I installed the Edelbrock 3881 intake. I really didn't see that much of a HP gain between this and the stock TB. For $350, I would expect more. In my opinion, I just wouldn't waste your money. Get your OEM TB cleaned or have it rebuilt.

I needed a replacement for the original throttle body on my 1989 Ford F-150 truck with 302 engine. The auto parts stores no longer carry the twin throttle body, only some aftermarket part that needs all sorts of modification. This throttle body fit my 1989 truck perfectly. but the coolant hose connections were slightly offset from the original equipment. A slightly longer hose on the lower coolant port made it work. No modifications and my truck now runs perfectly with the new throttle body.

Installed throttle body on 1995 F150 5.0 4x4 extended cab. So far so good. No complaints performance wise but not much gained either. This is more of a supporting part if intake and exhaust are already done. Will be doing both soon and will update to reflect performance gained over stock. This part shows direct fit which is false. You will need to re-route the cooling lines because they hit other parts. It is purely a design flaw that needs to be fixed. I just bypassed the cooling lines going into the throttle body itself and this solved my issue. Also don't be alarmed if the throttle seems harder to depress. The springs are just a bit stiffer on this part. Other than that looks great and fixes the problem of plastic parts on the throttle linkage on top.

My 95 F150 was having a high idle problem . The idle wouldn't come back down to normal when coming to a stop . After an easy install , the truck runs great and the high idle problem is finally gone .

Purchased this item after much trouble with a idling and stalling problem I was having on my 1991 F250 5.8lt windsor. The guys at ford were unable to pinpoint the cause and suggested replacing the throttle position sensor and throttle body. I ordered the throttle postion sensor though Amazon first and that made some difference, though it seemed the throttle body may be the problem. As these are hard to get in Australia I bought a second hand one ($350) from our local F series wrecker. Still the same as I guess it was only as good as the one I already had. Nothing left for it then but to take a chance on one of these. I was concerned about the larger bore size, 56mm instead of my original one with the 53mm bore. I found reviews elswhere that suggested a problem with air cavitation from larger size bore bodies fitted to Cobras etc, causing a whistling sound at the manifold which could be resolved by honing a taper into the lip of the manifold. This new one fitted up perfectly and with a few tweaks by the ford guys again she was running beautifully. There is a slight whistle sound at speeds over 115 klm/h, though only very slight and not a problem for my needs as a work truck. Thanks Amazon for helping sort out my beloved F'truck.
